Having met with several excellent funeral directors, Rouse & Co stood apart from the very first interaction. Grace’s gentleness and calming kindness, Louise’s warmth and guidance, and Mark’s extraordinary care for my husband, Tom and us girls, made us feel less like clients and more like cherished friends. At every visit, my two girls and I felt genuinely welcomed, listened to and valued. They held our hearts and hands through every step and stood beside us in our grief. 

They took the time to understand our wishes as a family, offered thoughtful options tailored to our circumstances, and never once tried to upsell or put us under any pressure. Every decision felt like ours, guided by people who truly cared. Above all, I always knew Tom was in safe hands. They supported us tenderly through every step, treating him with the same dignity, respect and meticulous care I believe they would have shown their own loved ones. 

What touched us most was the profound humanity behind every detail: the way Mark cared for Tom as though he were his own loved one; the music Tom liked when preparing him, mementos and complimentary little treasures thoughtfully provided for the girls; and the patience, sensitivity and reassurance with which the team helped us navigate the unimaginable. 

After a deeply distressing experience at the mortuary, I was terribly anxious about seeing Tom again. The team had prepared him so beautifully, even in his own suit, beard trimmed, face clean and soft, that I was able to spend precious time with my husband and feel close to the man I knew and loved. That gift will stay with me for the rest of my life.

Every member of the team seemed to understand what we needed before we could find the words to ask. Their professionalism is exceptional, but their compassion is what makes them truly extraordinary. They helped transform an unbearably painful time into one in which we felt safe, supported and surrounded by kindness. They even moved mountains to be present at Tom’s service, becoming, in every sense, an extension of our family. My ten-year-old was so moved that she has already said she wants Rouse & Co to arrange my funeral one day — hopefully many, many years from now.

To Grace, Louise, Mark and the entire team: we will be eternally grateful. You treated Tom with the dignity he deserved and my girls and me with a love and gentleness we will never forget. You are so much more than funeral directors; you become an extension of the family when a family needs it most. If you want your loved one to be cared for with unwavering dignity and your family to be treated with genuine compassion, kindness and love, please do not go anywhere else. You are truly extraordinary, and you deserve every accolade.

I cannot recommend Mark and his team highly enough. They arranged my father’s funeral and provided a service that was truly exceptional from start to finish.
From our initial engagement and discussions, Mark and the team at Rouse guided us through the process with the utmost empathy, patience, and professionalism. Taking the time to listen to our wishes and making a very difficult time feel completely manageable.
A gesture that stood out immensely was the courtesy call we received just before the funeral. To have them reach out simply to check in and see if there was anything else at all that we needed was a deeply comforting touch that our family much appreciated.
On the day of the funeral itself, the entire team was outstanding. Their attention to detail was flawless, and it was clear that absolutely nothing was too much trouble for them. They ensured the whole day ran smoothly and gave my dad the beautiful, respectful send-off he deserved.

All the quality and compassion we could have possibly wished for from a Funeral Director (times a million)! Above and Beyond doesn't even come close!

It's obvious Rouse and Co take huge pride in offering traditional quality, respectfulness and professionalism. They are genuinely caring, friendly and so thoughtful and accommodating through the whole process.

We received an exceptional service from Rouse and Co, and then some! Don't look anywhere else if you want the VERY BEST for your Loved One and family.

From the moment you walk through the door of Rouse and Co, you feel as though you're among friends or with an extension of your own family. They are not about making money or being inflexible. They take time to have relaxed conversations (whenever you need) and really listen to what your individual wishes and circumstances are so that they can provide the best for your Loved One and your family. Louise was really approachable, supportive, and knowledgeable, we knew we were in great hands from the very start!

Mark Rouse is a Legend! He did so much for our Mum, I can't even begin to thank him enough for being so caring, and all the personal touches, and extra stuff he just does. Due to our family's situation, we were pretty high maintenance! Nothing was too much trouble. We made some late changes (and I asked a LOT, last minute!!), I apologised to Mark about it, he said "Don't worry at all, it's what we do". Wonderful person!

If I could give more stars I would. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my send off!

Dear Mark and Louise, Thank you both so very much for your kind care in helping my sister and I arrange Mum's funeral. We knew our Mum was in such safe hands, and you pulled out all the stops to make her funeral so incredibly special for our family. Just a brilliant respectful delivery of the services they offered keeping the family in mind .

Everything went smoothly from Louise who fedback any of our enquiries to mark whose team who organised the transport side of things which mafe the day go well as we also had horses which also added to the day

This as a family was our first funeral we arranged but it was made so easy as the staff were caring polite respectful and informative and would have no problem recommending their services which was exceptional xonsering how gighly emotional the situation was for us as a family.

From the moment I had my first conversation with Louise, I knew that this was the right team to look after Nan on her final journey.
Louise was always on hand to make sure I understood what was happening at every stage. She was incredibly helpful, patient and understanding, and supported us in making sure Nan’s wishes were carried out exactly as we wanted.
The whole team were so thoughtful, compassionate and attentive throughout, and we truly felt that Nan was treated with the utmost care and dignity. Grace went above and beyond to retrieve Nan’s fingerprints, which are something we will treasure forever.
You all made the hardest time of my life a little more comforting. You went the extra mile to ensure that Nan’s wishes were respected and that her final farewell was exactly how she would have wanted it.
Thank you for your patience, kindness and understanding during such a difficult time. A special thank you also to Mark, who ensured that everything ran smoothly on the day and that Nan’s farewell was carried out with such care.
We will always be grateful for everything you did for Nan and for our family. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

I would like to leave a review for Rouse particularly Grace, Mark, and other staff that helped who I'm so sorry not to remember their names, think it was Louise and the two men that helped with the cars and drivers. There was care straight from the beginning and loving support. All staff are suited to their jobs as they are compassionate, very helpful, supportive and very kind. Rouse went above and beyond with my family, especially myself with the joint funeral of my Nan and her son, my Dad's joint funeral. Grace was amazing as the talker at the funeral and showed her heartfelt emotion alongside her compassion when conveying to us as a family our words and songs. Other staff like Mark and Louise answered questions as did Grace and made me feel heard and helped massively. The men who were with us in the cars were also very compassionate and caring. The ashes were dealt with very compassionately and swiftly and also Grace talking us all through our memories and plans. I thank them all from the bottom of my heart for being so personable and caring and putting that before finances. I will recommend them to anyone who needs their services. with loving kindness Lesa.

My daughter and I can't thank Mark and all the team enough for how they helped guide us through the whole process.Nothing was ever too much for them- from the initial out of hours collection by Mark of my wife from home.Louise and Grace were also such a great help and managed to put our mind at ease and organised the ceremony.Carrie-Anne and Marilyn also added a couple of personal touches for Jackie as well.On the day of the ceremony Mark was there to help and ensure the day went smoothly and Jackie had the send off she well deserved.Thank you Rouse and Co. from Richard and Jo

From the moment we first contacted the funeral directors, they treated us with such dignity, warmth, and understanding while we navigated the pain of losing my dad. They truly made us feel like family and nothing was ever too much for them.

Having used Rouse in 2024 when my Father passed away and how fantastic they were,when my Son passed away in March 2026 I knew who I wanted to carry out my sons Funeral.
Mark,Louise and Grace are fantastic,nothing is too much trouble,they go above and beyond,and always on the end of the phone no matter what time.They add special touches that represent the person,which is such a special touch.Something you dont get with big company's.
