Sadly for us as a family we are left forever traumatised and broken hearted.  We trusted J G Fielders with our dad.  We sent in our dad's favourite clothes but more importantly my dad's favourite cap which me and my sister wanted to hold onto.  However, we knew with our hearts dad would want to wear it.  Our dad even requested to wear it as he lay dying in bed in a care home (it was hung up on the door).  I was unsure if I wanted to see my dad again before his funeral but I made the decision I needed to say goodbye.  The first thing I noticed as he lay in peace was that he wasn't wearing his cap!.  We had also sent in 2 small American flags and a chocolate orange.  None of these items were with him! J G Fielders had lost our dad's favourite things.  I was told these items could have mistakenly gone out with the rubbish or incinerated! Had I not seen my dad, we would never have known.  We have spared our mum further pain and she will never know.  However me and my sister have been left distraught and traumatised.  We will carry this trauma forever.  Our dad's final journey was ruined! We are sorry that J G Fielders let you down dad and we will never forgive them!  I would never trust them to look after loved one's.  They should be ashamed of themselves.  This is what they say on their website:

Fielders were extremely helpful from the first telephone contact.
We only had to answer a few questions as to what we wanted and everything was done for us. Any later queries or changes were immediately dealt with. On the day they were very polite and ensured that everything went smoothly.

All the e/mails, Directors/Office staff were all so helpful to the family,
The coffin and flowers were a picture to see,
John who did the service for us in the chapel it was so smooth and lovely,

Derek was treated with upmost respect and I was supported through ever step of the arrangements. The livestream of the funeral and interment was excellent. It meant that those who weren’t able to attend, as far afield as Essex and even Australia could still be with Derek to say farewell.
