1st class service, took all the worry out of a very distressing time.
Handled everything from the moment we rang with the sad news mum had passed away to organising every step of way with complete compassion and professionalism.

The family and other mourners were impressed by the efficiency and sensitivity of the service, and I was relieved of all the difficulty of co-ordinating the arrangements and tributes from various quarters. It seemed that anything we wanted was made possible, and a programme of selected music was created, it seemed, effortlessly. This was all provided with quietly supportive friendliness, and I couldn't recommend them more highly.

In every step of our difficult way, Fielder and Son assisted and anticipated our family. We had various special and probably unusual requests which were immediately fulfilled. We were delayed by train journeys but all was accepted and understood. Thank you so much.

Keith Houlston who looked after our arrangements on each occasion was always professional but also took a personal interest in our needs. He was helpful, supplying the information we required and keeping us up to date with preparations. We would not hesitate to recommend Fielder's care.

Everything went according to plan without any problems. Fielder and son staff were excellent, for example they arranged a viewing of the deceased at their premises during a bank holiday.

On the death of my father on 1st March this year I selected J G Fielder and Son to undertake his funeral. This selection was based primarily on their website reviews as I am not local and therefore had no real knowledge of funeral service providers in the York area. I can honestly say that I made the right choice, from my first contact they dealt with everything in a sympathetic but extremely professional manner guiding me through the process. Everyone within Fielders that I had contact with was so kind and helpful. Particular praise must go to John Tattersall for the service he provided, the understanding, the responsiveness and the 'nothing is too much trouble' feeling that he gave me in all our dealings. A great comfort. Sympathetic and once services accepted they take over all details of the arrangements, removing a lot of stress from the relatives. Comprehensive and easy to talk to, from the lovely lady in reception to the directors, nothing too much trouble. A very professional service. We can only say good things. Thank you.

Following the death of my mother I had no idea what needed to be undertaken in the process leading up to, during and after her cremation. Chris Fielder came out and undertook the entire process in a professional and supportive manner. He dealt with all the little challenges with care and understanding, matched us up with the perfect celebrant for our family situation, and provided excellent support throughout.
