I cannot do justice here as to how good JG Fielder & Son was. I was lucky enough to speak to Jon on my first call to a director - in a state of slight panic at the thought of organising a funeral by myself. Jon said it can be advisable to call other directors for quotes. I knew I didn’t want to go elsewhere - my gut feel was that he would do a great job. So many third parties are involved when it comes to payment and organisation - florists, printers for orders of service, a humanist, burial ground or cremation time - but Jon took care of every single thing, only asking me for the decisions that needed to be made along the way. The fees were completely transparent and fair. Then, on the day of my father’s funeral, Jon was everything you’d want - upstanding, smart, dignified, respectful -  also with an amazing manner, putting me at ease. My family agreed he was superb, as was the humanist he chose for us. I believe this is a family business - which for me is a great thing. Thank you so much for making a very sad, emotional time well, still very sad - but as dignified and perfect as the day possibly could have been.

Faultless professional approach, and at the same time we felt so well cared for. Jon Kirkman guided and supported us so exceptionally, from our first contact, through the planning process and visiting the Chapel of Rest, right through to after the funeral. I liked that they didn't overwhelm us - it seemed they took a measure of what we could manage at a given time and guided us on the way, flagging up what the next priority would be. This helped remove the stress of it all, a lot! It also became clear that we could trust Jon and team to take care of the funeral and of my sister. I am very pleased to say that everything went perfectly on the day, just as they said it would. We were very happy with the care taken of Beverley, with dignity and an approach that I feel she would have been happy with. I found them transparent, open and honest throughout, and supportive of our decision to source our own coffin. Fielders allowed us to be us and to make the choices that felt right for us and for Beverley. Exceptional funeral directors - I would not hesitate to recommend, or use again.
