Thornalley Funeral Services were absolutely excellent in every particular . From the outset they treated me ( the widow organising the funeral ) with sympathy and respect . The Funeral Director came to see me at home within a day of being appointed . He took me through the details of what I wanted in the funeral service , hymns , readings , flowers etc , making helpful suggestions as we went along and showing me examples of what was available such as different types of  layout , script etc for the Order of Service Sheets  . He suggested ordering more Order of Service Sheets than were needed for those attending the service so that family and friends who could not attend the service could see what hymns and  readings were comprised in the funeral service .. A suggestion I took up .

At every stage of the planning Thornalley kept me updated with what they were doing and what would happen next and when , from liaising with the vicar  conducting the funeral service to liaising with the hospital where my husband died within 12 hours of being admitted to A&E. The hospital had handed me the clothes and personal effects he was wearing ( eg. wrist watch ) when he was admitted to hospital after his death . They had missed the fact that he was wearing a ring on his little finger of his left hand . Thornalley spotted this when they went to the hospital to collect my husband’s body and to move it to Thornalley’s mortuary and they handed the ring into the Bereaved Relatives Office at the hospital so I could collect it and they phoned me to let me know that they had found the ring and had handed it in . Had they not done so the ring would have been incinerated when my husband ‘s body was cremated . The ring is of great sentimental value , having been worn by my husband’s grandfather and father before him .

At the funeral service the Funeral Director , pallbearers and hearse were immaculately turned out . All the members of the congregation were very impressed by them and remarked on them in their comments to me afterwards about the funeral service .

Thornalley are a long established family owned and run firm with years of experience in organising funerals and it shows .

I can't recommend them highly enough.

Having a funeral directors in the located in the village meant I didn't have to think about travelling into Lynn and made it much easier to deal with things. When there is so much to do and you are numb even that helps. Nikki and Sam at Dersingham couldn't have been more helpful. They even called to just check I was okay leading up to the funeral, that made all the difference that day. First class service. Thank you so much.

Andrew and Steph helped to organise my father's funeral. It was a professional service from start to finish. Nothing to seemed to much of an ask. I felt my dad was looked after before the funeral and we as a family were supported and looked after. I couldn't recommend the service we received more. Highly caring and professional service.

Andrew and the staff were very supportive during our difficult time. My granddaughter wanted to take her grandad to the crematorium on her cart with her driving her shire horse. Andrew arranged all the timings and ensured we arrived safely at the crematorium.  Even provided us with videos and a photo as a reminder.   Excellent service thank you
