Lots of things to do - usually one or two at a time. Problem with payment information - had to ask twice. Lost the early payment amount (not my fault)
Also really expensive final bill!!!! Amount kept going up and up.

We are sorry that you thought that the final bill was expensive, but the account raised was as per the original estimate we provided with the only extras being for additional services that you requested after the estimate was supplied. As with many processes there are various stages of a funeral arrangement which must be completed by the family rather than the funeral director and although we strive to take away as many of these stresses as possible for the families we serve it is not possible for us to deal with everything, but we apologise if this placed additional pressure on you at this difficult time. If there is anything that you wish to discuss with us directly then please do not hesitate to contact either the Carlton office or our Head Office where we can investigate any matters of concern further for you. Would of preferred being kept in the loop regarding things a bit more, wasn't informed about when my dad was being collected from the hospital and also wasn't informed about the notice going in the paper only found out it was in from a family friend

Sensitive and empathetic guidance throughout the booking and arrangements process, and in dealing with any subsequent queries I had prior to the funeral itself. All aspects of the funeral were handled with discreet professionalism, both by the Lymns team themselves and by the excellent civil celebrant, Keith Brown, who they had recommended to me and who went to immense trouble both before and on the day to provide a lovely farewell for Mum that could have not have been more fitting for her, or indeed for myself. Sincere thanks to everyone involved.

I would like to say a big thank to everyone at Lymns for the wonderful support both in the arrangements on the lead up to the service and on the day.
From the start Laura was extremely professional / supportive and informative offering advise and giving guidance when required. On the day of the funeral, everything went very well and everyone attending the service commented on arrangements and how out of the funerals they had attended our mothers touched them; directly after the service we released doves which was amazing and uplifting. Julia supported us on the way to the service and during, again, we felt 'looked after' and 'cared for' by the team at Lymns (a special thank you to Laura and Julia). AW Lymns were always there to provide support with documents that were required and handled everything with up most sensitivity.
The speaker they recommend (Victoria) was a lovely down to earth lady who gave my father a great send off.
We would use both of them again.
It would be nice to have access to a 6 seater car though because my family would have preferred to be transported together.Chloe Lymn Rose replied

We are sorry that you were a little disappointed that you could not all sit together to travel to the funeral. Our vintage fleet can still accommodate six passengers but unfortunately our modern Rolls-Royces cannot. -

Everything was so beautifully done...the only thing we were a little disappointed with was the cards were placed on the incorrect flowers...was a bit delicate and did upset my mother, i had to rearrange them ... but everything else was done with care and compasion, many many thanks . We are sorry that there was an issue surrounding the cards on the floral tributes and I have spoken with the funeral director to see if he can recall anything about this. He remembers that the tributes were delivered to us from another florists and the cards, which were already with us, were labelled on the reverse indicating which tribute they were for and placed on the tributes as labelled. Following the service he was requested to move some from the main tribute onto two other tributes which he did. We are sorry if there was an error in this regard and that this upset your mother and would welcome the opportunity to discuss this further with you should you wish. Thank you. -

Mark Chapman was amazing, he was supportive, compassionate, caring, respectful and very professional but friendly and approachable. I could not have asked for more, he made an extremely difficult time bearable. I could not fault the service I received from A.W.Lymn from my initial meeting with Derek to all the following meetings with Mark. They all went that extra mile to ensure all my wishes for my son were met. A truly amazing service received from this team and A.W.Lymns should be so proud of this team for all the dedication they showed to provide an excellent iservice to meet the individuals needs. Thankyou Mark and your team for everything you did for my sons final journey xx

We would like to thank Mick and his staff for being very professional but also approachable to help us to organise and implement the funeral for Mum.
He was able to explain the options that were available and helped us to implement all our wishes for the service at the crematorium that we required.
We would also like to thank the coffin bearers, who supported the grandchildren to carry their grandmother on her last journey
In addition to this a special thank you for arranging the bus, so that the family could all travel together

I would like to thank all who were involved in arranging my father's funeral - from your people who collected him the night he died (kindly offering me some time with Dad before taking him away), to Sarah who guided us through the funeral arrangements with empathy and kindness, instinctively understanding the kind of funeral we wanted for Dad. Julie was invaluable on the day, when emotion threatened to overtake me - her wise counsel to take deep breaths worked! It was a lovely service and made the sad process of bidding Dad 'goodbye' a positive one.

We would have no hesitation in recommending Scott and the team at AW Lymn in Ilkeston. Funeral arrangements were made with care and discretion which made things so much easier for the family at a very difficult time.
