I'd not needed a funeral company for over 15 years when we last used Lymn's and two more times before then. My memory was of most helpful people in sad times.
When I suddenly needed help in January 2022 I called upon their services again.
They swiftly responded sympathetically and had most respectful members of staff with me the same afternoon. I can't say it was a pleasure to watch them deal with my departed mother, but I can say that they handled her and spoke to her throughout, just as we did. Most reassuring.
Conversations with Kirby and Jack then followed as the medical paperwork arrived. Both were professional, but appropriately friendly. The helpfulness I'd remembered was as good as ever and the funeral arranged to our families requirements with advice and explanation from both Kirby and Jack, on a wide variety of matters.
Our funeral went most smoothly with several members of Lymn's staff being involved. All showed respect throughout and were helpful and understanding.
When you see how hands on Kirby is you can understand why the service is so smooth and reassuring.

The Wollaton branch originally belonged to the Ilkeston Co-op Funeral Service before being incorporated into the A W Lymn group in 2003. The funeral home was formerly based on Arleston Drive in Wollaton, but was moved in late July 2014 to a purposed designed site on Wollaton Road called Deer Park House.
The new premises has off-street car parking and a beautiful visitation room with its own private waiting area.
The office was formerly a police station and features a large, bright, modern client reception, as well as state-of-the-art rooms.
The office is run by Funeral Director Kirby Cranshaw with the help of Funeral Arranger Skye Parton-Buckeridge.
The funeral home is open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and on Saturdays from 9 am to 12.30 pm. You can also make an appointment to see someone after hours via the telephone number.
The branch covers all of Wollaton and its surroundings including Bilborough, Bramcote, Nuthall, Strelley, Trowell, Watnall and beyond.
A.W.Lymn The Family Funeral Service is managed and owned by the Lymn Rose family. Nigel, Jackie and Matthew Lymn Rose are the directors of the company.

We met Jack under the most horrible circumstances following the death of my wonderful mother. He was caring, compassionate and dealt with the situation very efficiently but with care. Over the next 5 weeks we worked with Kirby to make arrangements and she was absolutely brilliant. We didn't want a traditional funeral and they helped us organise the most wonderful celebration of my mums life and we could not be more grateful for their help and support. We recently entrusted my Wife's funeral and cremation to Lymns and they handled all the arrangements faultlessly. We were met by the Wollaton Branch Director, Kirby, who expertly helped us to plan out a fitting celebration of my Wife's life, on a non-religious basis which we required, guiding us through every possible aspect and proceedure, to provide exactly what we wanted to achieve. The Celebrant who they recommended, Richard, planned and conducted the proceedings excellently. Our gathering of about 40 Relatives and Friends felt that they had said "good bye" to my Wife in the most memorable way. Well done and thank you, Lymns.
