Losing a truly loved one takes your breath away and our family lost both my brother and Mum within a year of each other but the service we received from John Weir has been exceptional.

Emma at Parkwood showed not just how amazing she is at her job but she genuinely made us feel like she cared for and understood every hope we had for their goodbye’s. Her unwavering support has been enormously appreciated by our family, she’s truly a treasure!

John Weir Funeral Directors took away any additional stress in arranging the right type of funeral for dad, managing any and all concerns and query efficiently, with sensitivity and compassion for our much loved family member. Emma at Parkwood was always available and guided us through the process, making sure we were happy at each step. Ben managed everything very well on the day, supporting our family members as bearers and ensuring our wishes were carried out from start to finish. Overall, they helped us to make sure dad's funeral was personal and reflective of the great man he was and the love we have for him, thankyou so much.

We used John Weir for our daughter's cremation and dealt mainly with Emma at the Parkwood Branch. She was so kind, helpful and compassionate. She provided all the information we needed and we felt held and supported throughout the worst journey we, as a family, have ever had to deal with. She was at the end of the phone if we needed her and she responded quickly.

Thanks also to the team of drivers who looked after us on the day... they ensured everything ran smoothly.

Our family would like to extend our deepest thanks to John Weir—especially Emma, Simon, and Kevin—for their outstanding support and assistance with my mum’s funeral. Emma went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect. She even remembered that Mum always loved her “big hair” and made sure to puff it up a little before we went to see her, which meant so much to us.
On the day of the funeral, Simon and Kevin were incredibly sympathetic, offering gentle guidance throughout. They also shared a few kind, light-hearted moments with us on the way to the wake, which brought real comfort during a difficult day.
From start to finish, everything was handled with such professionalism, care, and compassion. Thanks to their dedication and kindness, Mum had the perfect farewell, and we will always be grateful for that.

All the staff at John Weir without exception have been kind, calm and efficient at a difficult time.
We felt understood, supported and that we could ask anything at any time.
Family photos were well adapted for the Order of Service and we took advantage of the streaming service so family far away were included.
I have nothing but the highest praise for the team.
