We were promised that the music for my mother's funeral would be either plugged into the church sound system or played on Lymn's own speakers so that it would be "nice and loud" to accompany the hymn singing. This was not the case. The congregation could not hear the music so, in the main just stood in silence throughout the two hymns, wondering what was happening.
At such a difficult time a family just wants their loved one to be treated with respect and dignity. Friends and relatives want their departed to have the service that they would have wanted. This should have been a celebration of my mother's life and her love of hymn signing.
It is very upsetting that Lymn's performance was so poor on this occasion.Chloe Lymn Rose replied
Dear Mr. Pentreath, We are sorry that the music played at Church was not as you had wished. In order to enable the funeral on the date you requested we unusually covered all of the hymns at St Mary’s with our portable music system, as the organist was unavailable and you did not want to look at an alternative date. The Funeral Director and Usher have both commented that the music system worked as expected, so we really are sorry that you and they recall such a different version of events to. We trust that the rest of the service offered by Emma, Louise and our team was to the standard you would have expected, and that the funeral in Penzance went well. It is disappointing to receive a two star review, and to read your comments about failing to show respect and dignity to your late Mother, when having now spoken with you it is confirmed the only issue was with the volume of the music in church. Thank you. -

Lymns at Ruddington gave a very professional, compassionate and friendly service expecially Kirby and Theresa.
I couldn't have asked for better send off for my mum.
Nothing was too much trouble.

Lovely from the off set, caring courteous throughout from the 1st meeting to the funeral itself. There was a little confusion is respect to carrying the coffin and the funeral director seemed a little miffed when I spoke with him but other than that I cannot fault the service

Thank you for taking the time to leave this generally positive review of the services provided by Jackie and I. I am sorry that when I did the pre-funeral check I gave the impression that I was ‘miffed’ when the family bearers were mentioned.
It was purely that I was caught off guard as I did not have the information about this in front of me at the time of making the call, and certainly was not a problem to me as we would always accommodate a family’s wishes in this and other regards. I am glad that all the other aspects of the funeral were as you wanted and if I can be of any further help please do not hesitate to contact Jackie or myself at the Shirebrook office. Mum was at the Arnold branch. Jessica was kind and patient with me in dealing with the planning of Mum's funeral.
There was no rush when we visited the chapel of rest towards the end of the day.
Colum, our celebrant was equally patient and caring and I highly recommend him.
Everything on the day ran smoothly. The staff were very respectful to Mum and us.

After the loss of my mum understandbly I was grief stricken and also nervous about arranging my mums funeral.
Sarah was wonderful, she was sympathetic towards the family she explained everything we needed ti know,also kept in touch by phone or email to keep us updated.
The care towards my mum was beautiful and respectful and could not fault your company at all. They took great care of my mum which was reassuring at this upsetting time.

All the arrangements that the family had to consider and make when we lost our mum were supported in such a warm and caring, but efficient manner. Nothing was too much trouble and suggestions were also offered to help us with the funeral.

Dan helped myself and my family through this difficult time of losing my father. He explained everything and took time to listen.
The funeral went smoothly and Neil, our driver, again assisted with everything as we went through the funeral.
