Established in 1992 and located at Rutland House, A.W. Lymn's West Bridgford office is run by funeral director Andrew Brown, with the assistance of funeral arranger Samantha Alla-Mensah. Edward Martin is the Senior funeral director for the south area and is also based at A.W. Lymn's West Bridgford Office
The branch includes two visiting rooms and a family rooms There is parking space to the back and front of the building.
The office is open Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm and on Saturdays, from 9 am to 12.30 pm. You can also get assistance at any time of the day by calling the telephone number and we will arrange an appointment at your convenience.
The branch covers all of West Bridgford and its surrounding area including Bradmore, Bunny, Compton Acres, Edwalton, Gamston, Holme Pierrepont, Keyworth, Tollerton, Widmerpool, Wilford, Willoughby on the Wolds, Wymeswold, Wysall and beyond.
Former president of the National Association of Funeral Directors, Nigel Lymn Rose, is a director at A W Lymn The Family Funeral Service, along with his sister Jackie and his son Matthew.

Despite the Covid-19 restrictions Courtney handled the arrangements, for our Dad's funeral, in a very professional manner, ably assisted by Andrew.

Mum had a pre paid funeral plan, so a simple phone call from the nursing home where she passed away to the local West Bridgford branch of A.W.Lymn started the process.
The whole thing was dealt with in a highly professional manner.
Special praise go to Courtney, the funeral arranger and Richard, the funeral Celebrant, both of whom were very thorough and caring.
The funeral itself could not have been better, a perfect send off. Beautifully presented cars arrived on time with Paul, our driver, doing an excellent job in difficult circumstances. Everything about the service, the Order of Service booklets, the poems and delivery by Richard was excellent.
The whole thing was beautifully coordinated by Jackie, our Funeral Director on the day, who looked after everything in a very professional and sympathetic way.
Everyone who was allowed to attend agreed that it was a lovely, fitting funeral for my Mum.

The service was in general very professional. However I think the lead person could have been more proactive in the detail organization over the phone. Answers were always forthcoming but only as a result of specific enquiries, which at stressful times such as bereavement are not always obvious to the client.
I understand the restrictions imposed by the Covid virus, which makes the telephone contact vitally important to ensure things are not missed or overlooked.
I make these observation in a constructive way, not as a complaint

The current pandemic has made funeral arrangements very different to what we are used to and it is certainly more difficult to discuss all the elements of the service in a telephone call rather than during a face to face arrangement conversation. The way that we were dealt with from the beginning up until the actual funeral was extremely poor. There was a total lack of communication from the staff in the West Bridgford office. I cannot go into detail as it is too painful to discuss. I have registered an official complaint.

We recently used Lymms for our Mums funeral. From start to finish, they were amazing, they made a difficult time so much easier. The support with all aspects of the planning, from preparing the service leaflet , to ordering the flowers, was aided by Courtney, who did an amazing job.

On reflection, although the day of the funeral service went well, the elementary mistakes in the funeral director’s administration procedures leading up to it, should not have occurred.

I am so sorry that prior some content of an email was missed by our funeral arranger and although this resulted in a lower appraisal of our service than it would otherwise have been I am just grateful that the omissions were actioned in time for the funeral. It was very nice of you to mention to my colleagues that you remembered us camping together in the Lake District even though we have not met for over fifty years. Thank you.

Excellent, but the green death cert form went missing within Lymns, and when we met the hearse in our cars in front of the West Bridgford shop/office, the Lymn van was parked in the way so that "assembling" our cars was awkward.

We are glad that everything was excellent on the day and that you were particularly pleased with the Rolls-Royce Hearse used on the funeral. It is unfortunate that you felt the green certificate had been misplaced, this was not the case it was just that these arrive at our head office and with COVID restrictions in place limiting in person visits to our offices these can take a day or so to arrive at the correct branch. Finally we are sorry that one of our vehicles was parked in the client parking at the front of the office. We apologise that this negatively impacted upon your day but thank you for bringing this to our attention so that we can address it with the staff members involved.
