About Us
Established in 1992 and located at Rutland House, A.W. Lymn's West Bridgford office is run by funeral director Andrew Brown, with the assistance of funeral arranger Emily Case and reception and administration assistant Samantha Mensah. Edward Martin is the Senior funeral director for the south area and is also based at A.W. Lymn's West Bridgford Office
The branch includes two visiting rooms and a family rooms There is parking space to the back and front of the building.
The office is open Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm and on Saturdays, from 9 am to 12.30 pm. You can also get assistance at any time of the day by calling the telephone number and we will arrange an appointment at your convenience.
The branch covers all of West Bridgford and its surrounding area including Bradmore, Bunny, Compton Acres, Edwalton, Gamston, Holme Pierrepont, Keyworth, Tollerton, Widmerpool, Wilford, Willoughby on the Wolds, Wymeswold, Wysall and beyond.
Former president of the National Association of Funeral Directors, Nigel Lymn Rose, is a director at A W Lymn The Family Funeral Service, along with his sister Jackie and his son Matthew.

We were very pleased with my Father’s funeral. Lymn’s were very helpful, provided good advice and were responsive to our requests. On the day, attention to detail was clearly evident & Julia did an excellent job of leading the process right from its beginnings from Lymn’s premises through to the end of the service at the crematorium. All staff were courteous and respectful. We felt our Father was in safe hands.

Sarah and Andrew have been brilliant - at a time that is so difficult, they make the process as easy as possible, treating you with genuine care - taking time to really listen and get to know you and the loved one you’ve lost. The services they offer cover everything you could ask for, with options to suit a wide range of preferences and budgets. The service was very easy to organise and mostly stress-free.
What went badly was the burial. No-one had thought about the logistics of getting a wheelchair across a grave yard and therefore with great difficulty and due to soft ground it was difficult to get my mum to the grave and even then we could not stand with the rest of the family. Overall in that sense there was poor planning.

As discussed in our email exchange, I am sorry that you felt this one aspect of the service was not as you would have wished, but to reiterate as the grave was selected by yourselves and the Churchyard, and we were not asked to provide any sort of temporary flooring over the grass, we did not consider this as something that was required. I do hope that everything else was completed to your family's satisfaction, and I am sorry that this one issue has caused you to rate our entire service as two stars out of a possible five.

I (along with my daughter Nathalie) would like to thank everyone that was involved at A W Lymn in organising the funeral preparations for my beloved wife Madeleine Edwards.
The support and advice you provided at such an emotionally distressing time was a real comfort. You were there to answer any queries.
The day of the actual funeral was done respectfully. The cars arrived on time, the seating of the guests was all done for us so we didn't have to concern ourselves with any of those details.
The Celebrant that Lymn's (Rebecca White) was an excellent choice for us.
The person I dealt with was Andrew Brown so a big thank you to you Andrew for all your help.
