Harrod House in Carlton, located on Church Street, serves as the purpose-designed home of A.W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service in the area. Originally established as G. Harrod and Sons, the business became part of the A.W. Lymn group in October 1994 following the acquisition of four funeral homes from Jason Beeson. As part of that transition, the company was proud to welcome Gerald Harrod, a member of the founding family, into the team.
In January 2018, the funeral home moved from its original location on Church Street to its current, larger premises. The building was renamed Harrod House in memory of Gerald, who passed away in 2013. Reflecting Gerald’s impact on the company.
The funeral home is led by Senior Funeral Director Mark Ridout, who brings decades of experience and compassionate care. He is supported by Funeral Director Paul Richardson and Funeral Arranger Emma Hemstock.
This branch serves the communities of Carlton, Bakersfield, Bulcote, Burton Joyce, Caythorpe, Colwick, Gedling, Lowdham, Mapperley, Netherfield, Sneinton, St Ann’s, and surrounding areas.
As part of A.W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service, a fifth-generation family-run business established in 1907, Harrod House continues the proud tradition of respectful, bespoke funeral care under the guidance of directors Nigel, Matthew, and Jackie Lymn Rose.

I have been very touched by the infinite kindness of Jessica and Mark who could not have been more helpful and supportive during what was the saddest of times. They made what is no doubt a difficult and complicated process relatively easy and were always there to answer all questions, whatever their nature, with great tact and competence. I extend my thanks equally to Jackie who was there on the day of the funeral and who again was delicate and kind in her approach to the proceedings.

Throughout, Jess has been superb. She was extremely conscientious and personable while remaining professional at all time.
Extremely organised and had often preempted any questions or requests before they occurred to us.
Communication was flawless and she has made the whole experience as smooth, peaceful and pleasant as possible.
On the day, all staff were wonderful. They were considerate and respectful without making the day anymore sad than it already was.
I have been involved with 2 recent funerals with this team and I would highly recommend them to others in the future.

Mark and Jess were absolutely amazing through the whole process. Such lovely people and really made the worst time in my life a little easier.
They were happy to accommodate for absolutely anything we needed, and I mean anything. They wanted to take all the stress out of the situation and they really did.
The whole lead up to the day, organisation of everything, and the day itself was done in such a great way, I can't sing their praises enough.
