Dominic was great from start to finish and made what we wanted to happen, happen. I had no experience of arranging a funeral but he guided me through, despite strange times being mid pandemic we were able to fulfil my dads wishes.
A.W. Lymn’s Bingham funeral home has a proud and long-standing history of serving the local community. Originally opened in 1964 as Bingham and District Funeral Service, the branch operated under the Beeson family alongside their Carlton, Radcliffe-on-Trent and Ruddington locations. All became part of the A.W. Lymn family in 1994, continuing a tradition of professional and compassionate care that dates back to 1907.
The building itself was formerly owned by the Squires family and functioned as the town’s local stonemasons, adding historical significance to the premises. In 2024, the Bingham funeral home underwent extensive refurbishment, introducing new, state-of-the-art facilities designed to offer families a modern, comfortable, and peaceful environment during times of need.
Dominic Lister, who has worked at A.W. Lymn since 2009, is the Funeral Director responsible for the Bingham office. A second-generation funeral director, Dominic lives locally and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role. He is a qualified Civil Celebrant and also serves as a tutor for the National Association of Funeral Directors, reflecting his commitment to the highest professional standards and continued education in the funeral profession.

I found myself having to organise my mother's funeral while the lockdown restrictions where in place. Dominic was brilliant trying to fulfil both my mother's and my wishes during this very sad time. Nothing was too much trouble.
He went out of his way to organise the beautiful flowers for my mother, something I wasn't able to do during these unprecedented times.
Everything was so well organised.

Excellent and thoughtful service from Dominic and the team throughout the process. These are really difficult times for everybody and no more so than in dealing with the passing of loved ones, given that the funeral options are limited and personal dignity is being compromised. With Dominic's help we were able to arrange a peaceful and fitting farewell for our dear mother and grandmother and for that we are very grateful. Thank you.

From the first phone call from Dominic expressing his own shock & sadness at Mum's sudden death, nothing was too much trouble. Endless people have said it was a wonderful funeral, if there can be such a thing. The Silver Mist looked the business & the old London double decker was brilliant in saving car use & provided a welcome lift of mood between the services. Dominic immediately confirmed that we could have the dog with us all day & provided company for her while we were in the Crematorium. I have just received a lovely folder with a Service Sheet,all the attendance cards & a list of attendees. Our family have used them for my Dad & brother in law's funerals & they have been brilliant at shaping the funeral to our wishes & budget where necessary.
