With all the complications with my mum in hospital, Domanic/AWLymns has been exemplary at being respectful and professional, when it came to my fathers passing.
A.W. Lymn’s Bingham funeral home has a proud and long-standing history of serving the local community. Originally opened in 1964 as Bingham and District Funeral Service, the branch operated under the Beeson family alongside their Carlton, Radcliffe-on-Trent and Ruddington locations. All became part of the A.W. Lymn family in 1994, continuing a tradition of professional and compassionate care that dates back to 1907.
The building itself was formerly owned by the Squires family and functioned as the town’s local stonemasons, adding historical significance to the premises. In 2024, the Bingham funeral home underwent extensive refurbishment, introducing new, state-of-the-art facilities designed to offer families a modern, comfortable, and peaceful environment during times of need.
Dominic Lister, who has worked at A.W. Lymn since 2009, is the Funeral Director responsible for the Bingham office. A second-generation funeral director, Dominic lives locally and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role. He is a qualified Civil Celebrant and also serves as a tutor for the National Association of Funeral Directors, reflecting his commitment to the highest professional standards and continued education in the funeral profession.
Conveniently located for families in Bingham and the surrounding villages, the branch serves communities including Barnstone, Colston Bassett, Cotgrave, Cropwell Bishop, Cropwell Butler, Granby, Harby, Hickling, Kinoulton, Langar, Long Clawson, Owthorpe, Plungar, Radcliffe-on-Trent, Tythby, Upper Saxondale, East Bridgford, Gunthorpe, Lowdham, Car Colston, and Flintham.

After my father's funeral in 2019 it was my mother's wish to have A W Lymn arrange her's when the time came. Philip Wilson and the rest of the team looked after us with great care and consideration and the day itself went seamlessly due to the organisation of both Philip and Christopher Henley the celebrant. Could not fault anything, excellent service at a very difficult time. Willing to accommodate family wishes to give Sid ( dad ) the very best send off.
