A.W. Lymn’s Bingham funeral home has a proud and long-standing history of serving the local community. Originally opened in 1964 as Bingham and District Funeral Service, the branch operated under the Beeson family alongside their Carlton, Radcliffe-on-Trent and Ruddington locations. All became part of the A.W. Lymn family in 1994, continuing a tradition of professional and compassionate care that dates back to 1907.
The building itself was formerly owned by the Squires family and functioned as the town’s local stonemasons, adding historical significance to the premises. In 2024, the Bingham funeral home underwent extensive refurbishment, introducing new, state-of-the-art facilities designed to offer families a modern, comfortable, and peaceful environment during times of need.
Dominic Lister, who has worked at A.W. Lymn since 2009, is the Funeral Director responsible for the Bingham office. A second-generation funeral director, Dominic lives locally and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role. He is a qualified Civil Celebrant and also serves as a tutor for the National Association of Funeral Directors, reflecting his commitment to the highest professional standards and continued education in the funeral profession.

I cannot thank Jonathan and the team at Lymn’s enough for their incredible support during such a difficult time. From our very first meeting, Jonathan treated us with a level of compassion and patience, listening thoughtfully to our stories to make an event that we felt really reflected our loved one.
Every detail was handled with dignity and perfection. Lymn’s were very easy to talk to when finalising details.
They made sure that all was as we would like, dealing smoothly for us with all the logistics so that we didn’t even notice them.
They truly went above and beyond.

Organising a funeral is just so tough and at first I don’t think we were sure what we wanted. Dominic was just so accommodating and easy going. Any changes we made were never too much trouble.

The service received for my mother's funeral has been outstanding from the initial contact to the conclusion of the funeral. Each element of the funeral arrangements was clearly explained. I found Dominic's calm and reassuring guidance and help of great comfort. I would particularly like to thank Dominic for all his help with the photos for the Order of Service and with regards to the photo montage. I would also like to thank the cortege drivers and pallbearers. I found the timing, pace and sensitive approach on the day to be excellent. Thank you so much.
