A.W. Lymn’s Bingham funeral home has a proud and long-standing history of serving the local community. Originally opened in 1964 as Bingham and District Funeral Service, the branch operated under the Beeson family alongside their Carlton, Radcliffe-on-Trent and Ruddington locations. All became part of the A.W. Lymn family in 1994, continuing a tradition of professional and compassionate care that dates back to 1907.
The building itself was formerly owned by the Squires family and functioned as the town’s local stonemasons, adding historical significance to the premises. In 2024, the Bingham funeral home underwent extensive refurbishment, introducing new, state-of-the-art facilities designed to offer families a modern, comfortable, and peaceful environment during times of need.
Dominic Lister, who has worked at A.W. Lymn since 2009, is the Funeral Director responsible for the Bingham office. A second-generation funeral director, Dominic lives locally and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role. He is a qualified Civil Celebrant and also serves as a tutor for the National Association of Funeral Directors, reflecting his commitment to the highest professional standards and continued education in the funeral profession.

In what is the most difficult time in my entire life, the funeral director supported and guided me . Always incredibly compassionate, attentive. Nothing was a problem, highly professional and respectful. Responsive, regardless what time it was.
They eased the load for me . Attention to detail was remarkable. The vicar conducting the service said that our funeral director was excellent.
They made it possible to have a service we wanted. I felt that they looked after me and my husband. Everything worked well. They organised for specialist to deal with all music and videos and livestream of the service. The quality of it was second to none. And everything was done with utmost respect and care.
I cannot thank them enough. In the times of pain and darkness it is good to know that there will be someone guiding you and making sure that I was ok . It wasn’t just about organising the service but also about each step all the way from the night I lost my husband.
I would not hesitate to recommend AW Lymn . Thank you for everything you have done so far.

From start to finish they made this difficult time go smoothly, constantly keeping intouch with myself and putting my mind at rest.
On viewing my late mum it was just like she was just asleep and the personal touchers were just perfect, as I hadn't told them entirely what mum was like.
Emma and Dominic from start to finish were friendly and welcoming and I would like to thank all of the staff on the day.

The attendants were excellent and very sympathetic to the situation. They took great care carrying the coffin and were very patient and kind at all times. I would recommend them to anyone who has to organise such a sad occasion. They definitely made things easier.
