St. Albans House in Arnold was opened in 1996 by Alison Maddaford in her capacity as President of the National Association of Funeral Directors. The funeral home underwent an extension in late 2012 and was fully refurbished in 2023 to provide modern, comfortable facilities for families.
Led by Funeral Director Russell Kemp, who possesses extensive knowledge of Arnold’s community churches and customs, the funeral home is supported by Funeral Arranger Jessica Raynor and Receptionists/Administrator Beryl Spencer. Together, they offer compassionate and professional funeral services tailored to each family's needs.
St. Albans House provides a range of facilities to ensure dignified and respectful arrangements:
- Customer parking for convenience
- A welcoming reception area with two private reception rooms
- Three visitation rooms, including a suite with an adjoining private space for families
- Cold room facilities for preservation
- A small memorial showroom showcasing tribute options

The funeral home is open Monday to Friday, 9:00 – 17:00, and Saturday, 9:00 – 12:30. The team is available 24/7 by telephone, with appointments available at any time for added flexibility.

A truly lovely service during a very difficult time. From our first call, they were so approachable and easy to deal with. Everything was handled in a calm and professional manner, and the day itself was perfectly organised.
The recommended independent Celebrant (Lisa Evans) was also excellent and handled everything with utmost care and professionalism.

I’m very happy with the service they provided, from collecting my brother from his home, and the girls in the office ( Jessica and Ruby ) for sorting out all the details, nothing was too much trouble. My mum's funeral went very smoothly and I was totally able to relax on the day, knowing that all the elements had been taken care of and were being handled by people with compassion, experience and competence.
I was organising the day from a different county so there was a fair bit of emailing back and forth regarding the finer details of the day, but every response was prompt and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend.
