Bernadette Anne Elizabeth Eatch
24th April 1971 – 14th October 2026
Bernadette Anne Elizabeth Eatch, known to everyone as Bernie, was a much-loved mum, daughter, sister, partner and friend. She was a woman with a huge personality, a wicked sense of humour and a smile that could light up any room. Wherever Bernie went, you certainly knew she had arrived!
Born on 24th April 1971, Bernie was the beloved daughter of John and Mary Lawlor and a loving sister to Martin, Maria, Josephine and Theresa. She treasured her childhood, particularly her Irish dancing, and remained very proud of her dancing days and her famous calves!
Bernie was fiercely independent, strong-willed and determined, with a bubbly, optimistic nature and an infectious love of life. She had a wonderful ability to make people laugh, find the positive in difficult situations and turn ordinary moments into lasting memories.
After meeting in 1991, Bernie and her husband shared 23 years together, raising their two children, Charley and Christian, who were the absolute centre of her world. She was a devoted mum who loved them unconditionally and was immensely proud of the people they have become.
Bernie loved socialising, holidays, family days out and spending time with friends. She was a loyal friend, a loving family member and someone who always made life a little more fun.
She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, cheeky remarks, stubborn streak, generosity and unmistakable personality. Bernie was truly one of a kind, and her absence will leave a space that can never be filled.
She leaves behind a lifetime of love, laughter and memories that will live on through everyone who knew her.
As Del Boy would say, “Lovely jubbly, Bern. You really were one in a million.”
