The care we received from Hannah at Stapleford was exemplary. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and advice regarding the arrangements were greatly appreciated. Hannah suggested things we would never have thought of, which made a big difference. Her manner was professional, but friendly - pitched exactly right. The day of the funeral was made easier to endure with the professional staff who attended. The after service has continued to be exemplary.
Thank you to all, who supported us through this difficult process - we could have received no better care.

The team at Gillots have known our family for over 4 decades.
They have looked after our family members through the most difficult of times in the past.
Valerie Hodson’s funeral was no different.
Val, Mum, was treated with the utmost respect and care, at all times.
Little things like knocking on the door of the room Mum was in, before entering, while we visited.
Zowie in Selston was pivotal in helping make all the arrangements and guiding us through what is inevitably an upsetting process. From the day we first met through to Mums Day, Zowie was always there to help, providing answer to the hard questions and the easy questions equally, with sympathy and respect. Thanks Zowie.
On the day the team were perfect and helped us give Mum the day we hoped for and a day she would have been proud of us too.
A day we will remember forever
A day we couldn’t have managed with the full Gillotts team from top to toe

Zowie’s patience and attention to detail were second to none—nothing was ever too much trouble. She guided us gently through every step, offering reassurance when we needed it most, and made an incredibly hard experience feel more manageable. Thanks to her, everything came together perfectly.




Danni was also amazing, and every member of staff we encountered was kind, caring, and supportive. They truly go above and beyond for the families they help.




They really are angels on earth, and they should be so proud of the difference they make during such emotional times.

We first used Gillotts Funeral Directors, Heanor two years ago for my mum’s funeral, and more recently for my husband Dean’s. On both occasions, they showed the same level of care, compassion, and professionalism, which made such a difficult time a little easier to bear.
Helen was especially kind and supportive throughout, guiding us with warmth and understanding from the very first conversation. Nothing ever felt rushed or impersonal, and every detail was handled with dignity and respect. She truly listened to our wishes and ensured both services reflected our loved ones perfectly.
Both services were led by Diane at Amber Valley Crematorium, and they were beautifully delivered. Each one was personal, heartfelt, and a true reflection of the person we were saying goodbye to. Many people commented on how seamless and meaningful everything was, which brought us great comfort.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Gillotts to anyone in need of a funeral director. Their consistency, empathy, and attention to detail are truly outstanding.
