E Latham and W Bexon funeral directors, both old established funeral firms in Hucknall, were incorporated in St. James House after joining the A.W. Lymn group in 1987.
The funeral home offers off-street parking, a reception area, two visitation rooms (which can be used together as a family suite if requested) and cold room facilities.
St. James House is open between 9 am and 5 pm, from Monday to Friday and is run by Senior Funeral Director Catherine Broome who is assisted by assisted by Funerals Arrangers Deanna Dale, Emma Hind & Luke Mellor.
If you need to talk after office hours or would like to arrange a more convenient appointment you can get in touch by calling the telephone number which is available 24 hours, seven days a week.
In the Hucknall office, Catherine also managers our pre-paid funerals provided by Ecclesiastical.
St. James House covers all of Hucknall and its surrounding areas including to the north: the villages of Blidworth, Linby, Papplewick and Ravenshead; to the north-west: Annesley, Annesley Woodhouse and Newstead Village; to the east: Bestwood Country Park and Bestwood Village; to the west: Eastwood, Heanor, Jacksdale, Selston, Underwood and Westwood.
St. James House is part of the A W Lymn group, managed and owned by the Lymn Rose family.

The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. They were very sympathetic to our needs, & worked very hard to secure the staff & services we wanted.
The chief mourner was full of cold on the day, clearly quite ill, but did an excellent job throughout.
The assistant who organised the bulk of the event worked incredibly hard. Most notably to find us a replacement celebrant when there was a diary clash due to venue availability restrictions.
They worked hard to ensure we could get the venue we wanted, and were able to work with the restricted venue availability, despite the challenge of working around the Easter weekend.
I would've given 5 stars but there were a couple of a small glitches:
The person who conducted our initial interview, and was our chief mourner, wasn't available to organise the funeral, leaving a much less experienced staff member in charge. Whilst that person was amazing and worked incredibly hard to do the best by us, it was a bit misleading.
Also, one of the staff who was acting as an usher at the service was incredibly officious, verging on rude to some of the guests. They didn't make themselves known to me (the family representative) or consult with me, unlike everyone else we worked with.
