About Us
Located at St. James House, A.W. Lymn’s Hucknall funeral home brings together the heritage of two respected funeral firms – E. Latham and W. Bexon – which became part of the A.W. Lymn family in 1987. Since then, they have continued their tradition of providing compassionate and professional funeral services to the local community.
In addition to caring for families, St. James House also serves as the administration centre for our pre-paid funeral plans, managed in partnership with Ecclesiastical.
The funeral home is overseen by Senior Funeral Director Catherine Broome, a Hucknall local who has been with A.W. Lymn for over 30 years. Catherine also manages the company’s funeral planning department. She is supported by Funeral Plan Administrator Luke Mellor.
Charis Boyce joined the Hucknall team in 2024 after completing the A.W. Lymn apprenticeship and is now a qualified funeral arranger and member of several professional organisations including the British Institute of Embalmers.

I didn’t think I’d be writing another review so soon, after the passing of my sister and her baby and now the passing of my partner. There was no doubt yet again we went with Lymns. Outstanding service and profession throughout. I can’t thank Catherine enough for all her support and Diana too. They make me feel so welcome and answered any bizarre questions I had. Words aren’t enough to describe how incredibly supportive they was with everything. I knew Steve was in very good hands. Hopefully I won’t be coming in again anytime soon to arrange another funeral but I’ll certainly miss popping in and talking to you both. Thank you so much 😊♥️

A.W. Lymn of Hucknall arranged my husband Arthur Eagle's funeral with great care and consideration. I would like to express my thanks, and also on behalf of family, friends and colleagues.
He was with Lymns a lot longer than anticipated, but they did all they could to resolve a difficult situation.
All of Lymn's staff worked with the utmost respect for my husband and the day itself went smoothly.
Everyone said it was a lovely service.

Words will never be enough to describe what an outstanding service you gave Lindsey and her baby son Rio. From the day we walked in you comforted both me and my mum through this tragic loss, helped us with any questions we had, went above and beyond and nothing was ever too much for you. We’ve had tears and most of all we’ve had some humour to get us through it all. The effort you’ve all made to help and comfort us when we felt like didn’t know what to do. The special keepsake from Rio too with his little hand and footprints, forever grateful for you doing them because that’s all we have of him. Having my mums wish to have them both together at peace is the most special heartwarming tribute of all. So a massive thank you to Catherine and Caroline ♥️♥️ you both are incredible lovely people. Thank you for being apart of this journey with us. We will never forget what you’ve both done ♥️💙

From the moment we first visited A.W.Lymn in Hucknall we were made to feel at ease & comfortable whilst faced with a difficult situation. We saw Caroline and she handled everything so professionally, whilst still displaying compassion and on our level. She explained clearly about the whole funeral procedure from start to finish but most importantly she listened to us and to our input, nothing was too awkward or too much trouble for her .. In the nicest possible way I'm hoping to not see Caroline any time soon, but would have no hesitation in recommending A.W.Lymn to anyone needing funeral services...

The service provided by A W Lymn was caring and compassionate. Handling everything on my behalf. The service provided was really helpful and significantly reduced my worry at this most difficult and sad time. The friendliness and professionalism of everybody at Lymn's shone through throughout this difficult time. They all knew exactly what they needed to do and guided us through the maze of paperwork and procedures required to deal with our deceased mother. Although there were some problems with the registration of death, communication with Lymn's was second to none so we were able to expedite the process with their help. We were never left wondering what was happening at any point in time.
Particular thanks to Caroline for being our main point of contact and to Richard for doing a wonderful job of the tribute. Thanks also to Katherine, Louise, Jenny and everybody else we came in contact with who helped make the funeral day go smoothly.

Very friendly and empathetic service. Guided us all the way throughout. Lymns has the most prestige funeral cars in Hucknall. Very competitive prices ( we expected them to be the most expensive but they wasn’t).
I would highly recommend them to anyone. I will without doubt use them again. I would also highly recommend their celebrant Richard who did a tremendous job.
Visiting us to find out all the background information about our loved one and piecing it all together into a perfect reading.
