Lymns were amazing! The staff was so friendly, organised and professional who went the extra mile with care. They made the whole process easier and less stressful for me and my family in arranging my dads funeral. They were all wonderful but special thanks goes to Caroline who ensured all the preparation for the funeral went smoothly. She kept us informed and consulted with us throughout. Also a big thank you to Catherine for being there on the day and for being very supportive, especially to my mum. A big thank you from the bottom of my heart, I Would highly recommend A.W.Lymns.
E Latham and W Bexon funeral directors, both old established funeral firms in Hucknall, were incorporated in St. James House after joining the A.W. Lymn group in 1987.
The funeral home offers off-street parking, a reception area, two visitation rooms (which can be used together as a family suite if requested) and cold room facilities.
St. James House is open between 9 am and 5 pm, from Monday to Friday and is run by Senior Funeral Director Catherine Broome who is assisted by assisted by Funerals Arrangers Deanna Dale, Emma Hind & Luke Mellor.
If you need to talk after office hours or would like to arrange a more convenient appointment you can get in touch by calling the telephone number which is available 24 hours, seven days a week.
In the Hucknall office, Catherine also managers our pre-paid funerals provided by Ecclesiastical.
St. James House covers all of Hucknall and its surrounding areas including to the north: the villages of Blidworth, Linby, Papplewick and Ravenshead; to the north-west: Annesley, Annesley Woodhouse and Newstead Village; to the east: Bestwood Country Park and Bestwood Village; to the west: Eastwood, Heanor, Jacksdale, Selston, Underwood and Westwood.
St. James House is part of the A W Lymn group, managed and owned by the Lymn Rose family.

Excellent caring service from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble and there was always someone to speak to during such a difficult time. I mainly dealt with Catherine who was a real star. I can not thank W.R.Lymns enough, they made an horrendous time bearable.
They were so professional at all times, whatever we asked for, it was no trouble.
The funeral went with military procession, excellent service. Catherine was amazing all the way through, very very professional.

From start to finish, at what was an emotional time for all concerned with the funeral of my father; I have to say that Catherine Broome from A.W. Lymn’s took all the hassle & stress away from myself & the family which was priceless.
Catherine was a joy to deal with and took care of all the arrangements for all family members and her attention to detail was exemplary.
Nothing was too much trouble and she provided a real personal touch as well as being pivotal in organising everything.

I cannot recommend lymns highly enough. Caroline is absolutely amazing. I was so overwhelmed to begin with because of having to organise everything over the phone and through emails because of the lockdown, but she literally held my hand over the phone and walked me through it every step of the way. I would have been totally lost without her. And David on the day of the funeral was amazing too. The whole experience was made that much better because of the care, compassion and empathy that they have.
