I have been a carer with Dementia for 18 years, I have worked as a Paramedic with EMAS for 8 years (& police custody for a couple years, but we won't speak about that, haha!) & then into Primary care. I say this because I have cared for & looked after many people in my career but never have I cared for someone like I did for Roy.

He was a beautiful soul, with a cheeky smile 🩵 an aabsolute gentleman with the biggest heart & had the most precious relationship with his beautiful daughter Andrea! He was one lucky dad ❤️

I always give him a kiss on the head & say I love you Roy & he'd reply "I know" 🩵

I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you final goodbye Roy but I will remember you forever. My mama has the kettle on waiting you!

I love you Roy .... "I know" 🩵

Many fond memories and precious times spent over the last 2 years. Always working hard and pushing himself to his limits. A true privilege and honour to be part of your journey.

  • I know he was a fighter and always determined to push himself but you encouraged him further and he thrived in his mobility recovery. I am so glad you were a part of his life and I know he looked forward to your weekly visits and would say afterwards “I managed two flights of stairs today but boy do I need a cup of tea now!” I am so grateful for the time, patience and love that you gave to my dad. You were a super star in his eyes xx

know the world feels heavier today,And words feel small to take the pain away,But you are not alone in this dark space;I hold your grief, and I will hold your grace.Your father’s legacy is in your smile,His wisdom carries on in you, mile after mile.He was your rock, the one who paved the way,And in your heart, he’ll always safely stay.Though tears may fall and memories run deep,And nights are hard, and sorrow makes you weep,Please take my hand, whenever you feel low,I’ll walk beside you, more than you will know.
