Funeral Director
In loving memory of Alexandra Ball 'Alex' who sadly lost her battle to breast cancer on the morning of 6th July 2026, surrounded by love.
Born in Nottingham to loving parents, Karen and Robert, and welcomed into the World by grandmother Margaret. From the very beginning, to her last breath, Alex was surrounded by the warmth and support of a close and caring family.
Alex is survived by her partner, Matt, parents, Robert and Karen, grandmother Margaret, and siblings, Melissa, Craig and Vicki and will be remember always by nieces, nephews and many friends.
Alex also leaves behind, her two faithful dogs, Mollie and Mylo. They were by her side through life’s highs and lows, offering unwavering loyalty and love, and she adored them beyond words.
Throughout her life, Alex touched many people with her kindness, intelligence and spirit. It is with deep love and remembrance that we invite you to celebrate this remarkable woman, that we all knew and loved deeply.
The funeral will be held on Friday 31st July 2026, at 10:15am at Mansfield Crematorium.
Following the service, everyone is warmly invited to join us for the wake at George Street, Hucknall, from 12:30pm, where we can come together to celebrate Alex’s life, share memories, and pay our respects.
The dress code is smart, with a touch of pink to honour breast cancer awareness, as was Alex’s wish. We hope this small tribute reflects her personality and helps us celebrate the wonderful person she was.
Alex’s request was that donations be made to Willow Foundation, a charity that supports seriously ill young adults in creating precious memories. There is a link to this amazing foundation on this page which you can follow to make a donation, or there will further opportunity to give whatever you can on the day.
Thank you all for your love, support, and kind messages during this difficult time. We truly appreciate the kindness that has been shown to our family and look forward to celebrating Alex’s life with everyone who knew and loved her.

My dearest sister, it breaks our heart to say goodbye. In your final weeks, we were grateful to be by your side—holding your hand, sharing tears, laughter, and precious memories that we will treasure forever. Being with you until your final moments was the greatest privilege. We will miss your smile, your strength, and the love you gave. You will always be our baby sister, forever in our hearts and never forgotten. Rest peacefully until we meet again. Love always, your big sisters Melissa and Vicki xxx
