About Us
Formerly an Ilkeston Co-op Funeral Service branch, this home was incorporated by the A W Lymn group in 2003, and then moved next door to a refurbished premises in 2009 and given the title Barton House.
The premises offer a large reception area, two visiting rooms, a private arranging office and there is off-street parking available.
Kevin Hall is the area manager and the office is run by funeral director Fiona Hall.
The office opening times are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, but an appointment can be scheduled by calling at any time day or night, seven days a week.
The branch covers all of Spondon and its surrounding area including Alvaston, Borrowash, Chaddesden, Draycott, Elvaston, Oakwood, Ockbrook, Risley and beyond.
A W Lymn is a family owned business since its establishment in 1907 and is currently owned by Jackie, Matthew and Nigel Lymn Rose.

Fiona Hall, at the Spondon office, who organised my dad’s funeral, is quite brilliant. She struck the right note with us from the moment we arrived, therefore making a traumatic and difficult process straightforward.

We were very pleased with all aspects of the funeral before and afterwards. The service in the office was excellent and very efficient. The Funeral staff on the day were all very kind, caring and sympathetic and we really could not fault anything. Would certainly recommend your services to anyone else in the future.

Fiona especially, was so warm and friendly. Everything, right down to the last detail was handled with care and dignity at our fragile time. All of our family would like to say how kind, thoughtful and professional you all were.

Everything about A W Lym was very professional and personal from start to finish. We would recommend them if anyone we knew needed these services. After sadly loosing my wife at just 55 years old , Lymns funeral services made such a difficult time less stressful. From start to finish they were in good communication with the family and gave us outstanding service and my wife a lovely traditional send off .
