About Us
Formerly an Ilkeston Co-op Funeral Service branch, this home was incorporated by the A W Lymn group in 2003, and then moved next door to a refurbished premises in 2009 and given the title Barton House.
The premises offer a large reception area, two visiting rooms, a private arranging office and there is off-street parking available.
Kevin Hall is the area manager and the office is run by funeral director Fiona Hall.
The office opening times are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, but an appointment can be scheduled by calling at any time day or night, seven days a week.
The branch covers all of Spondon and its surrounding area including Alvaston, Borrowash, Chaddesden, Draycott, Elvaston, Oakwood, Ockbrook, Risley and beyond.
A W Lymn is a family owned business since its establishment in 1907 and is currently owned by Jackie, Matthew and Nigel Lymn Rose.

An impeccable professional service from the start, Fiona was not only professional but polite and compassionate I cannot rate Lymns enough the service was outstanding!
The funeral was personalised and everyone who attended was amazed how professional Lymns were and from the start to finish had ultimate respect and pride in how they composed themselves I know several people who attended who are now also going to request Lymns, thankyou so much 10/10

Sadly this is the second time we have used Lymns funeral services, but again they have been amazing, I have received excellent support and feel happy that they will be caring for our dad on his final journey. I had no idea how to arrange a funeral. I didn't need to worry. Fiona made it all more bearable after the death of my husband in a tragic accident.
she was natural, friendly, while maintaining professionalism. I felt I could ask anything, no matter how trivial or stupid I thought it may be. She would always give me time to talk. It felt like our family were special. The day came and everything went smoothly and again personally with the driver slowing down when we passed friends who had come out to pay their respects.

My Mum planned a beautiful funeral sadly because of the Covid19 crisis the funeral was not as Mum had planned which was devastating. A W Lymn did an exceptional job for our mum and the family. From the first contact we made with them, Lymn's were extremely compassionate and operated with the upmost professionalism.
The whole process went smoothly and the service itself was perfect, a fitting tribute to mum.
We are extremely grateful to Nigel Lymn-Rose and Fiona Hall for the service they gave us. Adding that personnel touch goes a long way.

A very caring company, understanding the wishes of the family without over explanation at a very sensitive time. The whole funeral service put together which included celebrant Sally Ward has been commented on by a number of the mourners as being one of the most light funerals they had been to. A true celebration of Dads life. . . Which is what he would want.
