About Us
Formerly an Ilkeston Co-op Funeral Service branch, this home was incorporated by the A W Lymn group in 2003, and then moved next door to a refurbished premises in 2009 and given the title Barton House.
The premises offer a large reception area, two visiting rooms, a private arranging office and there is off-street parking available.
Kevin Hall is the area manager and the office is run by funeral director Fiona Hall.
The office opening times are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, but an appointment can be scheduled by calling at any time day or night, seven days a week.
The branch covers all of Spondon and its surrounding area including Alvaston, Borrowash, Chaddesden, Draycott, Elvaston, Oakwood, Ockbrook, Risley and beyond.
A W Lymn is a family owned business since its establishment in 1907 and is currently owned by Jackie, Matthew and Nigel Lymn Rose.

From the start to finish Fiona at the Spondon branch was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and for this I am so very grateful. Losing someone so special is very difficult but knowing that you can rely on someone so dedicated is extremely comforting. I couldn't have asked for anything more when arranging my husbands funeral recently. From the initial enquiry call to the funeral itself. Fiona was lovely and knew just when to empathise and when to give a hug to those who needed it , whilst rearing a calm and professional approach throughout. Our Chosen celebrant Karen was also lovely . Many heartfelt thanks to all concert and I certainly would recommend . Thank you ‘ The Jubb family’

We received an excellent service both Fiona and Kevin were second to none. They’re kindness, patience and understanding made planning the funeral so much easier and most importantly the day went smoothly with everything taken care of. Lymns went above and beyond to make sure the funeral was the best this kind of occassion could be. They were courteous and responsive throughout. Kevin looked after me from the start and guided me through what was a really difficult time. I felt he and other staff involved were also really interested in both me and my dearly departed, enough to meet all my wishes and ensure her send off was the best it could be.

Fiona was so lovely, she took me through everything step by step, making sure I was OK and didn't miss anything out. With her help planning the funeral was made alot easier and less stressful. She was there on the day which I thought was a kind touch. She gave a personal service without being too invasive. I will use her again if I am unlucky enough to need to plan another funeral

As soon as we walked through the door, nothing was a problem. Fiona was amazing and helped make a stressful time easy. Fiona also made a sad day very respectful and enjoyable, which was lovely. The celebate, Mark, was fabulous right from our first meeting to making the actual ceremony a time of reflection and joy. All in all Fiona, Mark and Lymns helped us give our beloved wife and mother the send off she deserved. The cars were the icing on the cake. My father has just said ‘Unforgettable’. Can’t recommend you highly enough and will certainly be using you all again when his turn comes. Thank you ❤️

Dont know how we got through it all without Fiona. She was so helpful and sorted out any issues we had re music etc. The cars were amazing and we really gave my dad a good send off as we pulled up at the crem. From beginning to end we had first class service. It wasn't all doom and gloom, we had a good few laughs with Fiona. She was brilliant so suited to the job and really is a people person.
