In loving memory of David Rigley who sadly passed away on 21st August 2026.
David had an extraordinary 40-year plus military career that stretched across the Royal Navy, Special Forces, the Royal Corps of Signals, and the Territorial Army.
He embraced the ‘Civvy Street life’ with his usual gusto and a great sense of humour and entertained all he met. He was a legend.
There is no specific dress code for the church service, other than David's favourite flower was the poppy and it would be lovely if people could wear poppies or something to represent the poppy in his memory.
Any of David’s military comrades and friends who attend, are also invited to wear their military medals if they so wish.
All are welcome to attend both services, as well as afterwards at The Royal Oak, Ockbrook to share memories of David's life.

I worked with Dave in the Special Forces (and as a communications operator in the Royal Navy).
In the SF, we were together in the UK, Malta Africa and a number of other locations at home and abroad. He was a very close friend and colleague who was dedicated to the role he took on and was a great teammate.
Personally, we lost touch when we left Poole, but could always rekindle our friendship as soon as we were together again.
We shall all miss a great friend and colleague. RIP Dave.
