The caring team at S Stibbards & Sons understand that contacting a funeral director can seem daunting, but with over 150 years experience, they are there to listen, reassure and support families at this very difficult time.

As a funeral home with family values at its heart, its focus is upon providing compassionate funeral care to families in Canvey Island and the surrounding area, at whatever time of day or night it is needed.

When it can be hard to focus on decision-making, it is the role of their caring team to listen and support families in a reassuring space where they can focus on their loved one.

S Stibbards & Sons’ Canvey Island funeral home provides a calm and tranquil atmosphere in which to make funeral arrangements. It has a private chapel of rest where families can spend precious time with their loved one, reassured that their funeral wishes are being taken care of. Should you prefer support in more familiar surroundings, a home visit can be arranged.

Whether families prefer a full traditional funeral service, or a quiet farewell tailored to their needs, funeral director Martin Stibbards and his experienced staff aim to ensure that the arrangements fulfil every family’s wishes.

Stibbards offers a fleet of modern Jaguar hearses and limousines to ensure families and their loved one can travel in comfort, driven by their professional staff. Traditional horse-drawn hearses, vintage vehicles and other bespoke options can also be arranged.

S Stibbards & Sons is a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors and Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Homes Association (SAIF) and meets the high standards set by both.

It offers Golden Charter funeral plans to those who are considering the future, while as part of its support for families, it offers in-house bereavement counselling.

    Stibbards are our family’s number one choice for conducting a funeral service from start to finish.
    Our 1st meeting with Kate was very important as it was the first steps to having the very best of care for my mum.
    She acted with great compassion and professionalism.
    Upon receiving mum at the chapel on Canvey we were always warmly welcomed by David Chittock who took over mum’s care following Kate’s retirement.
    Every visit to her was respectful.
    Stibbards also arranged for a celebrant to conduct the funeral service and she was absolutely brilliant. A very warm and gentle person with genuine compassion for the family and very personable.
    On the day of the funeral Stuart was the conductor and he and the other members of the company were top class, everything was seamless and every detail was perfect.
    If you ever need someone to have the very best service and a professional company to conduct a funeral for your loved ones, I would totally recommend Stibbards

    Very nice people and understanding.  Everything went smoothly on the day except for a couple of items.
    1. On viewing the flowers the incorrect persons name was in the frame and my son had to bring this to the attention of the Conductor..
    2.  The celebrant, a lovely lady, but made a mistake with the date of the passing of my husband although she had the correct date written down.
    Overall a good and well organised day.

    Absolutely amazing! Stibbards show empathy and respect every step of the way at a time when you are at your most vulnerable. Every member of staff I encountered provided me with excellent service and compassion.  The day of the funeral was calm and ran like clockwork.  Stuart and his team were exceptional.
