The day of the funeral went so much better than I had feared and this was due to the professional support of the Funeral Director and all the staff involved with my mum’s funeral. I would definitely recommend A W Lymn’s Ilkeston office to anyone suffering a bereavement
This funeral home was part of the Ilkeston Co-op Funeral Service, which opened in May 1994, and was then incorporated into the A.W. Lymn group in October 2003.
The funeral home is run by funeral arranger Michelle Ibbett and overseen by funeral director Mick Schofield. The office is open from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and on Saturdays from 9 am to 12.30 pm.
If you need assistance after hours, you can always call the telephone number at any time, seven days a week, and arrange an appointment at your convenience.
The premises offers one client parking space, a reception area, family rooms, visiting rooms and cold room facilities.
The branch gives a discount to Co-op members and also offers Ilkeston Co-op Funeral Vouchers and Ilkeston Co-op Funeral Plans.
The Ilkeston office covers all of Ilkeston and its surrounding area including Awsworth, Cossall, Eastwood, Heanor, Kimberley, Kirk Hallam, Langley Mill, Loscoe, Shipley, Smalley, Stanley, Trowell, West Hallam and beyond.
Nigel, Matthew and Jackie Lymn Rose are the directors of the A W Lymn group.

Kirby at the Park Road branch made one of the most difficult times in our lives so much easier to get through. From the very beginning, she showed such genuine compassion, kindness and understanding. Nothing was ever too big or too small for her, and she was always there to guide and support us with patience and care. We felt completely looked after every step of the way. We are so grateful to her for everything she did for our family. She is a truly amazing person who made a real difference during such a hard time.

From the moment we made the call to Lymns to say my mum had died, the care we received was incredible. My mum was transferred from our home with respect and dignity, and our thoughts and feelings were addressed at every stage. When we went to the office to arrange the funeral we met Michelle. Her care, compassion and professionalism meant we were able to plan mum’s funeral at our own pace. The financial side of things was open and clear and where we could save money Michelle advised us accordingly. Right up to the day of the funeral we were advised and included in every element. On the morning of the funeral we received a lovely message of support from Michelle. When mum arrived home for the start of the funeral - every step was clearly explained as we needed to know. Mum was treated so respectfully and we felt supported throughout the whole event. At a time when you can’t think straight, when emotions are overwhelming we were supported and advised - nothing felt too much and we never felt that we were being pushed towards options or sales. Michelle in particular was a lifeline during this very difficult time.
