About Us
This funeral home was part of the Ilkeston Co-op Funeral Service, which opened in May 1994, and was then incorporated into the A.W. Lymn group in October 2003.
The funeral home is run by funeral arranger Michelle Ibbett and overseen by funeral director Mick Schofield. The office is open from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and on Saturdays from 9 am to 12.30 pm.
If you need assistance after hours, you can always call the telephone number at any time, seven days a week, and arrange an appointment at your convenience.
The premises offers one client parking space, a reception area, family rooms, visiting rooms and cold room facilities.
The branch gives a discount to Co-op members and also offers Ilkeston Co-op Funeral Vouchers and Ilkeston Co-op Funeral Plans.
The Ilkeston office covers all of Ilkeston and its surrounding area including Awsworth, Cossall, Eastwood, Heanor, Kimberley, Kirk Hallam, Langley Mill, Loscoe, Shipley, Smalley, Stanley, Trowell, West Hallam and beyond.
Nigel, Matthew and Jackie Lymn Rose are the directors of the A W Lymn group.

My husbands funeral was arranged at A W Lymn Ilkeston by Michelle who I’ve one word for “AMAZING” from day one till 5 weeks later nothing was too much trouble she was so kind and caring to James (my husband) and myself.
All staff I met were lovely the respect that was shown when collecting James from our home till the day of his funeral was second to none

Michelle, at the Ilkeston base; was friendly, helpful and kind. Each day Mum was with her, she provided her a massage of face, hands and feet, things Mum had always enjoyed and found a comfort. It was a pleasure each time I visited the office.
Nigel and the team were equally helpful, cheerful (in a respectful way) and supportive on the day of the funeral.
We could not have wished for a nicer, kinder group of people to help us through this difficult period. Thank you all.

Many thanks for all the superb planning, organising and Michelle's attention to detail for dad's funeral. All the staff were wonderful and showed great dignity, respect and patience, taking us through every step beforehand which resulted in a beautiful service (many thanks to Tracey Matthews, the Celebrant, she did a wonderful job and also Kevin) and all details coming together perfectly. Dad would have been very proud. Would definitely recommend Lymns of Ilkeston to anyone.

Right from the beginning of my husbands final journey and putting his funeral plan together he and my family were treated with the upmost respect.
The funeral although very hard and emotional for me and the family could not have gone any better.
It was just perfect, exactly what I had requested, and it all came together beautifully. My husband was a professional entertainer and he had his final 'show'. The audience were mesmerised, emotions were high, but they left uplifted with some of his magic in their hearts!
A personal thankyou to Michelle from Lymn at Ilkeston for her hard work, kind words and most of all for looking after my husband whilst he was in Lymns care!

In such horrible and sad circumstances we really couldn’t have picked a better company to look after dad. He was always treated with the respect and care we would have given ourselves. Nothing was ever too much trouble and we had the funeral exactly as we and dad would have wanted.

Kirby at the Park Road branch made one of the most difficult times in our lives so much easier to get through. From the very beginning, she showed such genuine compassion, kindness and understanding. Nothing was ever too big or too small for her, and she was always there to guide and support us with patience and care. We felt completely looked after every step of the way. From the moment we made the call to Lymns to say my mum had died, the care we received was incredible. My mum was transferred from our home with respect and dignity, and our thoughts and feelings were addressed at every stage. When we went to the office to arrange the funeral we met Michelle. Her care, compassion and professionalism meant we were able to plan mum’s funeral at our own pace. The financial side of things was open and clear and where we could save money Michelle advised us accordingly. Right up to the day of the funeral we were advised and included in every element. On the morning of the funeral we received a lovely message of support from Michelle. When mum arrived home for the start of the funeral - every step was clearly explained as we needed to know. Mum was treated so respectfully and we felt supported throughout the whole event. At a time when you can’t think straight, when emotions are overwhelming we were supported and advised - nothing felt too much and we never felt that we were being pushed towards options or sales. Michelle in particular was a lifeline during this very difficult time.
