10 Years of Helping the Bereaved

This month, Funeral Guide is celebrating its 10 year anniversary. Launched in 2013, Funeral Zone was designed to give bereaved people in the UK an online resource that could help them through one of the most difficult times in their life.

Funeral Zone officially launched at the National Funeral Exhibition in Stoneleigh, Warwickshire. Funeral directors from all over the UK signed up to the website and the feedback from the bereaved was overwhelmingly positive. Within weeks of its launch, people were visiting the site to read articles on how to arrange a funeral and more were comparing funeral directors from the site’s listing pages.

Over the years, Funeral Zone enhanced its offerings, expanding and innovating constantly. In 2019 the site rebranded to Funeral Guide and since then it has grown to become the number one destination for funeral help, advice and support.

Today, Funeral Guide is the leading funeral resource in the UK, recording over 2 million visits every month. The website offers many more innovative services, including independent reviews of funeral directors so the bereaved can make an informed choice at their time of need, clear pricing for funeral services and crematoriums, online obituaries and charitable donations.

Founder and CEO of Funeral Guide, Ed Gallois, has seen the website grow, from a concept to a genuine South-West success story. On the company's 10th anniversary, he said:
