We were given lots of detail along with options for flowers at the initial meeting which we appreciated. A relaxed and pleasant discussion. Things proceeded very smoothly even though we wanted the funeral service at York rather than Newcastle. The service was very professional and the Humanist was excellent as she has a very pleasant voice and took on board our comments for the script.

I cannot praise the Gary, Richard and the team enough. The care and respect they showed my late mum, my family and I at such a difficult time is great appreciated. The webcast meant family and friends overseas were able to join us for the service.

The circumstances surrounding my father's death were very traumatic and left myself and family in a state of shock ,Gary Mcgee was our funeral director and what an amazing person he is. He went above and beyond for us and helped give my dad the best send off .we will for ever be grateful for the care and support shown from you all .

Absolutely fantastic care from Gary mc gee and the staff,Gary went above and beyond to help me through an absolute nightmare getting my mum back from Turkey and when someone else had been buried in my mums grave! Gary was a rock through a very upsetting time.i can't thank him enough.

The Funeral Director, Ian, the office staff, Diane and Petra, and the limo drivers were really great with us. Everything was explained, in detail, every step of the way as they held our hands through what is a difficult time. They showed empathy and sympathy throughout and removed all of the stress and strain of giving my Dad a send off that he would have been proud of. The Celebrant hit all of the right notes in a poignant, but quite upbeat, Humanist celebration of his life. Huge thanks are due to the Co-op for the way the whole process was handled and I can highly recommend their services.

Having never organised a funeral before, everything was made very simple and easy and I did not feel rushed or stressed by it at all. The arrangements and the funeral itself were handled in a very professional, respectful and sympathetic manner. I could not have asked for more.

After using Co-op funeral care in Westerhope for my Mothers funeral 4 years ago, we had no reservations at all in asking them to organise our Fathers funeral recently. Richard was very helpful, thoughtful and professional whilst helping us to plan the funeral that I know my Dad would have been proud of. He also helped us to plan our Mums funeral and I would not hesitate to recommend him.
Petra was also very helpful, caring and welcoming as I visited my Dad each day that he was in their care in the days leading up to his funeral. She is a naturally caring person who always takes time to listen and will help in any way she can whilst also remaining professional.
I know that this is their job, but both Richard and Petra go above and beyond in helping to make a very upsetting and stressful time that little bit easier for the family to enable them to take time to grieve. We would also like to thank the many other staff members who looked after and cared for my Dad after his passing through to the funeral.

So careing  and very professional they showed compassion respect to our late mothers passing and us as a family the staff helped us through the grief and took all the funeral arrangements our mother requested to the letter with dignity we thank all the staff who helped us get through this very tough time the staff from benwell and Westerhope were second to none Thankyou Petra for your support Thankyou Richard for your support and Thankyou Chris for administering my mams wishes and requests and all you other people associated with my mams passing EDNA  MAY DAVIS whos funeral service was on Tuesday 6th sept followed by a remembrance service in the garden of remembrance the scattering of her ashes performed my Richard we Thankyou  from the bottom of our hearts on this very hard journey god bless you all.  Blessings.
