About Us
Opened on 19th April 2021 Half Crown House on Derby Road is run by funeral arranger Tracey Sweeting-Rowe.
The new funeral home was originally an old bank and was ideal ‘blank canvas’ for a funeral home. It is now fully equipped with two chapels, onsite car park and an extended mortuary. The move follows the need for more space and easy customer access.
The fifth-generation family business first arrived in Stapleford in 2003 as part of the group purchase of the Ilkeston Co-op Funeral Group, taking over six funeral homes. Previously located at Parker House on Church Street, the company has since gone above and beyond to help local families through every step of the funeral process, offering support 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The office is open Monday to Friday, from 9.00am to 5.00pm and on Saturdays from 9 am to 12.30 pm, but can be opened after office hours by appointment or you can speak with a funeral director 24 hours a day by calling the telephone number.
The branch serves all of Stapleford and its surrounding area including Bramcote, Chilwell, Sandiacre, Trowell and further afield.
Nigel Lymn Rose, former president of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD), along with his sister Jackie and son Matthew, manage A.W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service.
Many families emphasise the care and support they received throughout the entire process, from initial arrangements through to the funeral day itself. Several describe staff as consistently kind, patient, and willing to accommodate their specific wishes without making them feel rushed or like a burden during an extremely difficult time.
Families frequently mention smooth communication and being kept informed at every stage, with many noting that staff were readily available to answer questions and provide reassurance. Several describe how arrangements were handled with attention to detail and professionalism, with requests being fulfilled thoughtfully.
A number of reviews note that the funeral day itself ran seamlessly and with dignity, allowing families to focus on saying goodbye rather than worrying about logistics or organisation.
