About Us
Fred Beeson established a funeral service in Radcliffe on Trent in 1937 and moved to a purpose built funeral home in 1961. The business was incorporated into the A W Lymn group in 1994 and still remains at the same location. The premises underwent a major refurbishment in 2020.
The funeral home is run by Funeral Director Gary Cooke and Funeral Arranger Emma Hutton, who will be able to assist you Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm and on Saturdays, from 9 am to 12.30 pm. If you need assistance outside of office hours then please call the telephone number at any time.
The funeral home covers Radcliffe and all its surrounding areas, including Barnstone, Bingham, Caythorpe, Colston Bassett, Cotgrave, Cropwell Bishop, Cropwell Butler, East Bridgford, Granby, Gunthorpe, Harby, Hickling, Kinoulton, Langar, Long Clawson, Lowdham, Owthorpe, Plungar, Shelford, Tythby, Upper Saxondale and further afield.

The Covid made things much harder... but I felt reassured all the time.
Having travelled for hours to get there, meeting Jane who greeted me so gently made me feel relaxed and ready to start the formal part of the day.

We have now used Lymns Funeral Directors (the Radcliffe-on-Trent branch) for both my mum and my dad's funerals.
Their service is absolutely excellent, they are so kind and helpful and organise everything expertly. I would like to mention Jane Keetley, who assisted us and who was friendly yet so professional, and enabled everything to go so smoothly, both before and on the day.
We have no hesitation in recommending Lymns, whom you can totally depend on at what is such a sad and stressful time.

Lindsay and the team at A.W. Lymn in Radcliffe were amazing. I have never had to organise a funeral before and did not know where to start, I can not recommend Lymn's highly enough. At a time when it's really difficult to think and make decisions Lindsay and the team guided us through, making everything straightforward and not at all overwhelming. They kept in touch regularly in the run up to the funeral, making sure we were ok, making sure we were happy with our choices and taking care of everything. Everything was dealt with efficiently but sensitively, and our contact at the office in Radcliffe (Lyndsey) was very kind, approachable and supportive. She explained everything that we needed to know and was very patient. On the day, the funeral director and staff were unobtrusive but professional and everything went as well as could be hoped for in the sad circumstances.

Thank you to Jane and Lindsay for their help and support. They gave me time whenever I needed it (and I needed it quite a lot) and professional guidance that managed to be kind and human at the same time. Thanks also for looking after Bob and all the family members who came to see him to say goodbye. The funeral itself went perfectly and it was only Covid that spoilt things by preventing us from getting together with friends and family after the service. But
I still wish the cherry tree was still there! Barbara x

It is always a daunting task to have to book a funeral.
I need not have worried.
From the initial consultation I felt in safe hands. Nothing was too much trouble, and I was taken at a pace to suit me. Nothing felt rushed. Every detail explained and reiterated to make sure "we were all singing from the same hymn sheet". (forgive the pun!!). It was reassuring to get a telephone call the day before the funeral just to go through everything.
Lindsay, is a true asset to the company. The years of experience as a business not only shows in their attention to detail, but they still retain that family and personal touch. The company has obviously progressed to meet with the times. I felt they wrapped me in a huge blanket and guided me through the process.
We did have a little hiccup regarding the flowers, but Jane calmly dealt with the situation, again another example of their professionalism.
My friend said " Lymn's........well they have certainly got it right"
I felt so safe in your hands as I am sure did my mum.

Mum had her final journey on what should have been Flintham show day, travelling through Screveton Village and saying goodbye to Beans farm and the other villages on her way. I am only sorry that there was the slight hiccup with the flowers but am glad Jane handled this well for you. I hope Rolo is behaving and everytime I go into waitrose I will think of your mum with her basket or two! (James with one basket). Enjoy Norfolk next time you go and of course Woodhall Spa and the happy memories we have spoken about which it was lovely to share. Excellent from the beginning, not knowing where to turn or even start you took control and informed me off the choices every step off the way and were so companionate in the sorting out that the funeral went ahead just as my dad would have wanted it with no stress to the family.
