Metro’s funeral and arrangements were perfect . Fiona took my husband and gave him the dignity he deserved . The arrangements were done with time . compassion and full support through this difficult time of grief . Could not of got through the funeral without her support . Professional throughout her role . Excellent service, very helpful and caring at a very difficult time for all the family. The whole experience was made as stress free as possible.
Located on Burton Road, AW Lymn's Littleover branch opened in May 2017 and funeral arranger Dan Barnes is in charge of the office, along with senior funeral director Kevin Hall.
The premises offer a reception area, visitation rooms, family room, cold room facilities and a ritual washing area.
Dan is available to see clients from 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday, or at any other time by appointment – the telephone number operates 24 hours a day.
The office is called Meek House and is named after David and Shelagh Meek, both Littleover residents and long serving members of staff at A.W. Lymn. Husband and wife team David and Shelagh opened the main Derby office on Becket Street in 1985.
Nigel Lymn Rose, former president of the National Association of Funeral Directors’ manages A. W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service, along with his sister Jackie and his son Matthew.

The team were fantastic and went out of their way in not only a difficult time but a complicated one, even staying late into the night to ensure a visit to the Chapel of rest to see Dad for those travelling long distances.

It has been an incredibly difficult time for my family and I after my dad passed onto glory in Nov 2021 but Dan at A.W. Lymn made it more bearable for us. He handled everything from start to finish professionally. He was compassionate in his service delivery, he was patient and he was super helpful and organised. He was simply exceptional. Not once did I doubt that things would not be ready on time even if we had less than 4 weeks to plan the funeral. It was smooth sailing and even where there were a few mishaps, he sorted it quickly. My dad was treated with dignity till the very end. The undertakers? Wow!!! Super respectful, their conduct touched me in ways I cant describe. I am so grateful and although I hope never to use them again, I will strongly recommend their services if you need one. Thank you Dan, thank you A.W, Lymn!!! God bless you all and may you be treated with the same dignity in life and in death as you treated my dear Dad. THANK YOU!!!
