Having been brought up in Crewkerne and knowing Stoodleys for over 50 years, they were the obvious choice for Dad's funeral a couple of weeks ago. We were not disappointed. The company lost its direct descendency from the Stoodley family a few years ago, but Tracey and Colin have continued the family's ethos and standards. Colin "did" Dad's funeral, and we cannot thank him enough for his professionalism and sensitive guidance, married to a lovely open, friendly and relaxed approach. He was able to recommend the ideal humanist celebrant for us, and where we needed suggestions and advice he provided it, to be perfectly complementary to our own thoughts and wishes. It all came together in a smooth, relaxed but respectful way, which drew the compliments of all who attended. We had previously taken out funeral plans with Stoodleys, and the advice we received then was unbiased, tailored to our requirements, and not at all pushy. In the event, Dad died whilst we were on the other side of the world, but their communication was excellent, they guided the nursing home through the registration of death, and looked after Dad until we got back and could confirm all the arrangements. Colin was always available for queries, suggestions and advice - no intrusion or request of him was too much trouble. We just could not fault them if we tried: thank you so much for managing a sad situation so carefully, and turning it into the celebration of Dad's life we hoped it would be. And an old acquaintance from Junior school, and one of my old school masters, were two of the pall-bearers - the personal touch was everywhere! So thank you so much Colin, Tracey et al.

Thank you so much to both Tracey and Colin for all their care and attention. My family could not have been looked after better by anyone. They were both so caring and compassionate and with their help and support the funeral service was very personal and uplifting. Thank you so much. Xx

Colin definitely made a very difficult time a lot easier. We had complete trust in Stoodleys and especially Colin. He was very sympathetic and we did not feel rushed into any decisions. I also felt that my mom was "safe" in his care. On the day of the funeral he was very good at telling us what was going to happen ,and directing us where to go etc. He made what was a potentially traumatic experience a lot easier.
