I would strongly recommend Stoodleys. They are a small Independant that handled all the funeral arrangements for my late father in a professional, caring and fault free manner. Being independant gave my mother an I the dedication and feeling that only a small family run business can provide.

I found A E Stoodley to be very helpful and supportive. Colin was extremely accommodating; always endeavouring to make the whole day exactly what we wanted and never trying to make us fit into his agenda. We all particularly liked the way he walked in front of the hearse on the way to our mother's funeral; it showed a respect that isn't often seen in our culture today. This is the second time on which Tracey at A.E Stoodley & Son in Crewkerne has acted for me. On both occasions she provided impeccable service. Everything was arranged with great efficiency and with no fuss. Tracey took great care to organise things in accordance with the wishes of the family and dealt with the whole process with kindness and sympathy. The service and care for my father and for the sympathy and care we were given as a family was excellent . They helped us through a sad time , absolutely nothing was to much trouble, from arranging the service to being there on the day . Tracey and her team were wonderful from beginning to end. She has exactly the right approach to everything - sympathetic, courteous and efficient, with a welcome touch of humour. She 'stage managed' the overwhelming volume of family and friends who came to the Crematorium with enormous tact and practical sense, and my family and I are enormously grateful to her, Colin and her other staff. Stoodley's  was highly recommended by a friend for whom  they had conducted two funerals in the past two years. Colin at Stoodley's handled everything to do with my mothers funeral with  professionalism and sensitivity. Colin managed to hit the right note & picked up very easily what we wanted to do,sometimes before we knew ourselves. His suggestion that we went to Musgrove Willow to help weave Rods coffin was a masterstroke, the whole family, teenagers included, totally happy & hands on. Nice to be able to drop in to Stoodleys when we thought of something, knowing Colin or Tracey would be there

I can't speak highly enough of Tracey & her Team! They are unique human beings who think outside the box & pay great attention to the finest details with a sympathetic, compassionate, thoughtful, efficient, professional & friendly manner. I could go on forever singing their praises & can't thank Tracey enough for how she arranged & conducted my sister's Fond Farewell. It was exactly what my sister would have wanted &, in my opinion, as perfect as any farewell could be. These are Funeral Directors who should be recognised & awarded - they actually listen - a priceless rarity! At such a terrible time one needs confidence in the Funeral Directors you have chosen. Stoodley & Son could not have been more helpful and efficient, making sure every detail was taken care of.  More than that, they gave me a warm and personal service and I can highly recommend Tracey Warren and her colleagues to help anyone else through the difficult task of arranging a funeral.

I cannot thank Tracy and Colin of Stoodley & Son enough for there help, kindness and empathy. Tracy helped me with the funeral - telephoning to arrange when I could register the death and sorted out the time for the service at the Crematorium and checking that the Minister was available and also gave me information on help that is available. They made a stressful time more bearable and helped to take some pressure away. Colin added the personal touch by putting a Brass plaque on the top and on the side of the coffin facing the congregation with my husbands name and year of birth and death and a Derby County Ram as he was a lifetime Supporter. A little touch which meant such a lot to his family and friends. The Funeral went as planned on the day thanks to their communication on getting the service sheet and other last minute details right. Thank you to all at Stoodley and Son I would recommend them.
