What Families Say
AI SummaryMany families return to Waters & Son after using them before, and a number mention choosing them specifically because of previous positive experiences with the funeral director. Families frequently describe the care shown to their relative from collection through to the cremation or burial, alongside the emotional support staff provided to them throughout the arrangements and on the day itself.
Communication emerges as a consistent strength, with many families noting they were kept informed at each stage, that staff answered questions patiently and thoroughly, and remained available when needed. Several describe staff going beyond standard practice—suggesting ideas that matched their wishes, arranging unusual requests, or adding small personal touches on the funeral day that reflected their relative's personality or their family's circumstances.
Families across the reviews emphasise how staff guided them through decisions when facing difficult choices, treated their relative with dignity and respect, and made the process feel less daunting at an already distressing time. A small number of families mention specific communication lapses or issues with third parties involved in the service, though these are isolated instances among the wider feedback.

We can not fault Waters & Son's, David looked after us all and we felt our mum who passed was in good hands. David was was very understanding and explained everything very thoroughly but the a great deal of empathy. We had communication with Ellie too, who was equally attentive. As a family grieving we found it reassuring that Waters & Son's covered everything so we did not need to worry. We would highly recommend this family run business, you certainly get a very personal high quality service from this funeral directors. We would like to thank everyone who had a part in our loved ones funeral within the Waters & Son's company.

We have used Waters and Sins before for family members funerals, so when it came to having to unexpectedly having to organise a service for our 30 year old son, going back to them was a 'no brainer'. From the initial contact with the beautiful, compassionate Ellie and asking specifically if we could please work with David, they stepped in and metaphorically held our hands every step of the way. Having to organise a service for your child, even if they were an adult, is not something we EVER thought we would have to do. The compassion and guidance from David was exceptional from the first phone call. With his help and guidance we organised his service, it certainly wasn't traditional and that was because of the guidance from David when we were building the foundations of what his service would entail, including connecting us with our celebrant Liza who just 'got us' and the essence of our beautiful boy. From the largest to the smallest details, nothing was too much, in fact on the day of the service, even the number plates on our sons hearse and the car we travelled in were picked by David to honour our Son. Its those small things that mattered on one if the most horrendous day of our lives, a day we could not have got through with David at times literally holding our hands. David and Ellie are now members of our extended family, to be honest, they didn't get a choice. They very kindly joined us at our sons wake and along with us and family members were last to leave, which we truly appreciated. With grateful thanks for everything they both did Kathryn and Ian (H's mum and dad)
