The actual day went very well. Dave Williams was excellent. However the lead up to the funeral was very stressful. The arranger was very poor - at one stage she told me that she had to prioritise cases when I rang her up. I was expecting a telephone call from Manager in 4th Jan. Still waiting!!

Can’t thank summer’s funeral care enough for how they made our lives so pleasant during a very sad and struggling time.
Maureen, Ed, Andrew and the rest of the team are absolutely amazing kind caring people.
Nothing was to much trouble for them, during the several calls and emails from myself.
The send off for my dad was absolutely outstanding thanks to Ed and Maureen.
They treated us like they were part of our family.
Words can’t express my grateful feelings towards this teams, I’m so glad to have chosen summers to take my dad into there care.

On the whole we were very pleased how the burial proceeded, we were a very small group of 3 attending, and did not expect to have had the same courtesy as at full funeral service. We were surprised and pleased with the presence of the Priest as he involved us in his service by giving readings to' do so that we were involved in the procedure. In fact we found that everything was respectable and standing around the grave and participation of all concerned was very moving. It was what my Sister would have wanted, as she was of a religious disposition, and we had provided a burial as she had requested and the priest holding a service at the graveside, it was all she would have desired. All your staff present were very helpful and professional, and we extend our thanks to them.

There were aspects that really disappointed and those that were okay. Overall I’m dreading doing the process again for my step Dad (who also has the same plan with yourselves) and my Dad who doesn’t already have a plan but wanted to purchase one. Despite my Mum paying for and arranging most of it in advance, it was still an ordeal laced with confusion, miscommunication, lack of empathy and an unprofessional manner. I felt like I was making a purchase I wasn’t happy with, yet had to feel grateful with what I got because it was on a plan. And I was asked for a payment when I was expecting a refund for services originally I was told we didn’t need or couldn’t have. Later to be told now we can have them and there will be no refund if we don’t? 40 mins being directed to the Co op complaints department when I was told I was being direct to the refund department didn’t help either. 
The celebrant and service was good though and having arranged a previous unplanned funeral 10 months before with Joseph for our mother in law which we were happy with, it was a stark contrast to what we were expecting.
