Cardiff Funeral Directors

Guide to Funeral Directors in Cardiff

Cardiff, the capital of Wales, is the tenth largest city in the UK with a growing population upwards of 345,000. It is the seat for the National Assembly of Wales, a cultural and sporting hub as well as being a popular tourist attraction.

There are approximately 30 funeral directors in Cardiff and its surrounding area, with a broad range of establishments to suit all requirements. Most communities and areas are catered for, and it should not be problematic to find a conveniently located funeral home in Cardiff.

Cardiff has significant ethnic diversity, due in part to the major maritime trading connections it had the past. It has well established African and Arab communities and a sizable Muslim and Asian community. Therefore funeral directors in Cardiff may have experience providing funerals for a range of religious beliefs and cultural traditions.

The main cemetery and crematorium for Cardiff is Thornhill, to the north of the city. Western Cemetery at Ely has provision for traditional graves and cremated remains. Traditional style memorial stones can be erected for Muslim, Jewish and Greek Orthodox burials. Pantmawr Cemetery, Llanishen Cemetery and Cathays Cemetery are to the North of the centre; the latter has seen the burial of many notable Cardiff figures and is the third largest Victorian cemetery in the UK. To the North West is St. John’s, Radyr Cemetery.

Sadly this was the second occasion in a short time when I needed the services of A G Adams, to arrange funerals for both my parents.  On each occasion Joseph and Rachel were extremely helpful and attentive.  Nothing was too much trouble and all our requests were met.  Despite their staffing difficulties recently Joseph paid exceptional attention to detail when arranging my mothers funeral.  I would have no  hesitation in recommending A G Adams.
