Thank you to Lee and the team for the perfect funeral for my dad. Lee was great from start to finish, keeping us informed every step of the way. No request was too big or too small. My dad was cared for with dignity and respect and he looked so peaceful in the chapel of rest. Thank you for making the process easy and stress free, we are so thankful for all of your hard work and efforts.

I chose M. Garton & Sons based on the excellent reviews that they had received as well as their helpful and informative website and am so pleased that I did.
Gartons provided a first class, professional and supportive service which enabled me to give my lovely Mum the farewell service that she deserved.
My thanks go to Lee and the rest of the team who pulled everything together including securing the services of an excellent celebrant (Helen), arranging a wonderful floral tribute for the top of the bamboo casket that I selected and organising the photo music tribute, order of service etc etc.
Nothing was too much trouble including the hearse pausing outside my Mum’s former family home on the way to the crematorium.
As one would expect from a long-standing independent family company pricing was transparent and there was absolutely no attempt at “upselling”.
I am very grateful to Lee and the team for the exceptional care that they gave to both my Mum and myself at this difficult time.

We had never had to arrange a funeral before the passing of my dear Father.
Lee Brodie was our contact and arranger of Dad's funeral and right from the moment my wife & I met him he made us feel at ease .
His approach in helping us decide what we needed to do, what we needed to arrange for the sad day , were so patient, sympathetic and with great understanding.
The process was made easier and we were left with the feeling that Dad would be looked after to the highest degree.
Viewing Dad in the Chapel of Rest was dignified and again was approached with tenderness and empathy.
On the day of the funeral, Lee and the other Pallbearers were beyond professional and i would like to thank them all for this.
We were kept informed for the entire time that Dad was with them and even afterwards when we collected Dad's ashes.
Thank you to Lee and everyone involved.

From the first contact with Gartons, we were treat with respect and dignity, with what seemed like a 'family' touch. We even ended up laughing with Lee at the first face to face meeting whilst we discussed the arrangements for dads funeral.

This followed right through to the funeral. When we arrived, the pallbearers stood perfectly still, heads bowed all with hands crossed at the front until we were ready to follow dad to his final resting place. What an amazing mark of respect to a deceased person that they hadn't even met!!

Lee kept us up to date with any relevant details, even phoning me on the morning of the service to run through everything so that we knew exactly what would happen. Gartons went above what I would say was a god service, but seemed to make it all very 'normal'

On behalf of our family we would like to thank you for making our dad's final journey a seemless, organised, and respectful one. We would have no hesitation in recommending Garton's to handle your loved one's journey to their final resting place.

My wonderful and darling wife passed away suddenly and un expectly hospital in the early hour's of Tuesday 14th November 2023 aged 67 years.
Of course needed to arrange a funeral for her. We had discussed this in the past as to what we would like.
Angie's wishes were a short and simple service.
Not knowing the funeral directors in the area the weekend of 18/19 November I enquired with Mr GOOGLE as to funeral directors in the area that I lived. Then looked at them all, as all I wanted was a dignified and caring firm to carry Angie's wishes. One of the firms kept attracting my eye, so on Monday 20th I contacted this firm, who were M. Garton and son
I put a call into them on the Monday afternoon and LEE answered the phone. I explained the situation and what Angie's wishes were.
As a result I met FRAZER for the Ist time the following Monday when I took some of Angie's favourite clothes to wear on her final journey
Then met him again on the Thursday, with a friend, whilst we made the final arrangements.
FRAZER impressed me with his caring, compassion, dignified and professional manner. I knew then that I had chosen the right firm to carry Angie's wishes out. It was to be a short non religious service with a Humanist leading it. Paul Hamby was requested to lead the service which he later did with compassion and dignified manner.
On the day of the funeral at Elley Fields Crematorium on Sproatley which was on Wednesday 13th December 2023, FRAZER performed like he had done since first meeting a couple of
Fin weeks before. Kind considerate dignifield and professional manner. Finally if you have any requests, no matter how big or small Gartons funeral directors will go that extra mile to provide it.
Angie was a keen horse rider and so I asked If her riding hat and riding gloves could be placed on the top of her coffin. Not a problem and for sure there they were. On arrival at the Crematorium I asked him if he would be so kind enough as to put an opened square box of tissues on her coffin as well which he did
Yes if you want a dignified, professional and caring service on their final day, then may I suggest that you look no further than M. GARTON and SON

The sudden death of our father floored us we didn’t have a clue what to do, I can’t thank you enough for what you did for my dad from start to finish you were on hand to answer any questions we had, The speedy recovery of my dads body meant the world to us, The way he was looked after in the chapel we couldn’t of asked for anyone better, They brought him home one last time and stayed till everyone left the funeral, Then brought his ashes too our door as they didn’t want further torment for the family, These guys go above and beyond for any family and we cannot thank them enough for what they did we are forever thankful, The Family Of The Late Barrie Taylor x

From start to finish, we cannot thank Gartons enough for the efficiency and compassion shown from the initial call, the collection of mum, the arrangements and the funeral itself which ensured mum's last journey was dignified and graceful befitting this remarkable lady. This was down to Gartons, particularly Eric, who showed full understanding of mum's wishes and carried out everything with no fuss and total understanding. Every step of the way was fully explained and no request from our side was denied. Full explanation of events was thoroughly gone over, Gartons staff did an amazing job compiling the order of services (which was beautiful and I remain truly grateful for this) and they did most amazing service getting mum ready for viewing - a harrowing taste for those who wanted to view mum but which was made all the better through Gartons attention and preparation .. she was serene and peaceful as we remembered her in life and we all left joyful and content within ourselves. The funeral was beautiful, everything ran like clockwork and the staff, again Eric in particularly was ever so attentive that we were left with ability to not mourn but celebrate the life of mum ... although a funeral, it was a joyful and celebratory occasion. This all down to the dedication, compassion and understanding of the individual's needs. We used Gartons in the past for my brother and can say that occasion went similarly as have all the others funerals that Gartons have. undertaken for most of the extended family over the years. I whole heartedly recommend Gartons who's dedication to duty allowed us to enjoy the celebratory side of someone's passing.

From start to finish M Garton and Sons were respectful, professional and efficient. We felt comfortable and confident with them . They were sympathetic and always available to speak to , helping with any questions we had . They recommend the humanist , who was wonderful. We couldn’t have hoped for better . Would highly recommend them , and cannot thank them enough for their service and support through a very sad time . Thanks especially to Lee , for his support and for referring and introducing us to Helen our wonderful humanist . Thank you again .

Firstly may we say, whilst we have known of this company for many years - we had not previously used their services. From initial contact, we were very impressed by the professionalism shown by Lee. When you have lost a close relative, you require expert guidance - and this is precisely what we received. 
Garton’s booked the crematorium according to our wishes, which was followed by a visit to their premises to discuss funeral arrangements in detail. Our minds were set at rest by Lee, and he made what could have been a difficult situation, easy to comprehend. Our wishes were achieved to the letter, and on the day of the funeral, Fraser was both accommodating, respectful and reassuring.
All went off smoothly, and we can’t give M Garton and Sons anything other than 10/10. Would highly recommend. John Maclean-Hutton.

Lee at Gartons organised my Dad’s funeral for us and we were so grateful to him for ensuring the planning and the event itself went smoothly. We didn’t have to worry about anything as Lee had it all in hand and was always there to answer any questions we had. Prior to my father's passing, I had been lucky enough to have no previous dealings with funeral directors, but Lee & the team at Gartons went above & beyond to make sure that everything was handled correctly & sensitively for our family.
As my father unfortunately passed away abroad, Gartons liaised with the insurance company to bring him back safely, and kept us updated of the progress every step of the way. It appeared that they took great care over his body whilst he was with them, and they catered for every request that we made, nothing seemed inconvenient for them. Lee was very professional & efficient throughout, and simplified everything for us so that it wasn't too overwhelming.
On behalf of the family, I would like to thank Lee, and everybody at Gartons, for their assistance, respectfulness & sincerity through this hardest of times.
I would recommend Gartons to anybody without hesitation.

Garton's offered a professional and compassionate service from start to finish. Each member of staff we dealt with was kind and considerate. All processes and costs were carefully explained and we were given plenty of opportunity to ask questions as well as time to make the decisions which were right for us. Lee kept in touch with us throughout, checking in that everything was proceeding as we wished. Fraser led on the day of the funeral and was efficient and considerate. Rev Allen delivered a comforting, personalised service at Chanterlands Crematorium.
A first-class service at a difficult time and highly recommended.

Myself and my family really appreciated the service which we have received from Garton's and their team, who helped us through the arrangements for the funeral of my late wife, Ann.
Everything went very smoothly, and they even coped in a most discrete and thoughtful way when the service at the Crematorium had to be slightly delayed due to the number of mourners at the previous service.
