I really couldn’t fault Heather, Sally and Sharron for their service and for looking after my Dad. Heather was so professional and explained everything very clearly that I needed. She looked very smart on the day of the funeral and we couldn’t have wished for more. Sally even said a special goodbye to my dad each night she left and was great with my son, wife and I when we visited dad.
My only negative on a great service is the fact your poor staff have to chase money for “extras” if you are using a pre paid funeral plan?!?!

It’s difficult reviewing an event where, hopefully, one has little to compare it with.  I have, however, recently attended a couple of funerals and would therefore say that my experience of using Coop Funeralcare in Ulverston is probably ‘average.’

The staff were all very pleasant, sympathetic and helpful.  I did, however, find the initial process of going through a check list of requirements a little mechanical and perfunctory. 

Communications prior to the funeral were generally good.

On the day, I found the overall experience a little underwhelming.  Whilst our pick up was admittedly in a busy spot, with poor parking and access, local roadworks and congestion made everything run late.  There was, however, no sense that this was anticipated, which is where local knowledge and initiative come in.  The car could not get outside our hotel and the Funeral Director (FD) messaged me to say that they were here and we made our way around to the side of the building where the car was waiting.  The FD came to meet us but, despite the rain, there was no sign of an umbrella.

At the crematorium, car doors were not opened and there was no communication with the driver.  This comment relates to my experience of another recent funeral where the driver continually provided information as to what we should do - please wait in the car; I’ll get the door for you; please follow on behind the coffin, etc. - where we felt guided and supported in a much better way.

The FD told me she would let me know when they had received the ashes, in order that I could arrange for collection.  Three weeks after the funeral, I had to call to confirm that they had the ashes.  I also asked for the finalised invoice, which has still not been received.

The overall experience was, I would say, acceptable but not special.  Other recent experience with a small, family run business has been much better.  I suspect that one gets what one pays for, though I would hope a minimum standard would always be achievable.

I was impressed and relieved from my initial phone conversation with the Ulverston office. The funeral arrangements were carried out professionally yet with dignity and care for my late wife , myself and our family.

My first experience with arranging a funernal. James my husband had a direct cremation as was his wish. All the staff are welcoming, caring, understanding, let you take your time, and explain what & when will happen. I was asked if I would like a finger print and lock of his hair. With direct cremation you are not able to attend, I was asked what James liked doing, achieved etc in life. This is for when the cremation takes place. The funeral director says a few words about him. Which I thought was a Lovely. There is also Bereavement support if needed and memorial suggestions / guidance. Nobody wants to arrange a funernal, but unfortunately it's part of life and I'm Immensely happy and satisfied with M T Sawrey and Ulverston Funernalcare Team. Thanyou so much to you all

At such an emotionally draining time, your staff behaved with steadfast professionalism and well-judged compassion. They were extremely supportive and assisted us whenever we encountered difficulties of any sort. The actual day of the funeral went extremely smoothly and we would like to thank Sacha for all her efforts, along with Steve (the driver of the limousine) who was perfect in every way. Very smoothly managed, with sympathetic and attentive staff. From the first meeting in our home through to the delivery of the ashes.
