This is what Co-op Funeralcare offer as part of their Simple Funeral:

They will remove your loved one from their place of death into their care within a 50 mile radius
If death occurs out of normal working hours, at home or in a care home, they will remove your loved one into their care, out of hours, at no extra cost
They will prepare, care for and dress your loved one in a gown to match the interior of their Basic Coffin
Your loved one will rest in their mortuary facility, or if required, a private rest room in their funeral home
You’ll be able to visit your loved one during normal working hours at no additional charge
They will transport your loved one from the funeral home to the crematorium or burial site in a ceremonial vehicle of their choice
On the day of the funeral, a wheeled bier will be used or the family can bear the coffin
They will make all necessary arrangements for a dignified funeral
Your funeral director will be there at the funeral to support and guide you through the funeral

I can't thank the staff enough for being so caring and understanding, for looking after my dad and being there every step of the way through the hardest time of my life. Craig Button, our funeral director could not have done enough for us and we are extremely grateful for everything. Rebecca, Ellie and Carol were so kind, caring and helped me to calm when i was distressed, they looked after me, showing warmth and were so supportive.

The Co-Op was great at dealing with my Dad's direct cremation. It was an unexpected death so nothing was in place. In the space of 48 hours I had a funeral director in place and all of the information I needed for the coroner / hospital. Carol at the Chester Le Street branch was superb bringing peace of mind during a stressful time just before Christmas and making sure Dad was being treat with dignity and respect. Ella also helped in ensuring we knew when the cremation would be and that everything had taken place as expected. I can't thank the team enough for the help and support they provided and during the Christmas holiday period!
