Sunderland Crematorium
About Us
The Sunderland Crematorium, opened in 1951, is owned and operated by the City Council.
The facility offers a waiting room with comfortable furnishings and accessible toilets. From here you will enter the chapel for the service. This space has an elegant arch and high, stained glass windows offering a serene atmosphere. It has pews that can seat approximately 70 people and as many again standing at the rear. A sound system can play music for your loved one's service, and an induction loop system is installed to help those with hearing difficulties.
The crematorium offers a number of memorial options including an entry in the Book of Remembrance, a plaque in the Hall of Remembrance, or a tablet in the gardens. A memorial tree or seat may also be placed there.
