From the first minute I walked into the office of the funeral directors, that initial greeting was warm and friendly, totallycrespect and dignity was dispkayedfro the whole team. I felt relaxed and listened to, leaving the office I felt at ease that my grandma was well cared for and I felt valued. The day of the funeral was so well organised, from the call the day before ensuring all grannys wishes where adhered to, and asking if I had any questions or if I was happy with the whole plan, was one word totally outstanding, I felt so at ease, the day went so smooth, I really cant thank the whole team for the service you provided not only me, but my whole family. It was my honour that grany had chosen your company to ensure all her wishes where granted, so thank you for tge kindness you all displayed throughout my journey.

I cannot give enough gratitude and praise to the Portobello branch of scotmid funeral directors, especially Gillian Harvey who dealt with myself and my brother from the outset. She helped us with all aspects of organising my mums funeral and her friendly yet professional manner made the process easier for us to deal with. Also a big thank you to the staff from scotmid who drove our cars and carried out the proceedings at both the church and crematorium. I believe Christine was the lady who led the proceedings from scotmid, she along with the rest of the staff were very smart in appearance and professional in every respect of their duties.

Obviously not an experience anyone wants to repeat but I will not hesitate in using Scotmid at Forrester Park again if the need arises in the future.

From start to finish, Scotmid and ALL of
the staff could not have done any more to make our father’s farewell any more special than it was. My father was well known in Edinburgh so it must have been very difficult for them to arrange what ended up a very public funeral. From Wendy in the office to Christine and the boy’s on the day, everything was done to perfection. To be honest all of the arrangements were  something most could only dream of. Our father could never have imagined the send off he received.  Our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you.

Vicky, Steven Ian and colleague's couldn't have been more helpful, kind or considerate.
It made everything a bit easier to bear.
Lis Dick's service was uplifting at a sad time.
One glitch was the flowers not being changed as requested but that was Williamsons and not Scotmid's fault. Would highly recommend Scotmid funeral services.

Absolutely delighted how mums funeral went.  From the onset of meeting David, everything was taken care of with such compassion and professionalism. Scotmid Funerals Coop, Liberton Brae, Edinburgh.

Our family had the devastating need to use a Funeral Directors for the sudden unexpected death of a family member with the body having to be Repatriated back to the UK from Spain.  I made contact with Scotmid Funeral Coop on Liberton Brae, Edinburgh to see if they could deal with this. Allan Taylor was my first point of contact and I can honestly say his compassion and professionalism was excellent. He kept in contact with me throughout the Repatriation and the days beyond, which continued on for 5 weeks. He also assisted greatly with our decisions for our family members funeral. On the week leading up to the Funeral, Allan had planned Annual Leave and we were passed over to Victoria Jackson. Again, Victoria was compassionate and professional and she went above and beyond to console my mother when we spent some alone time with our family member.  Victoria also sourced pink ties for Scotmid Staff to wear on the day of the Funeral as she knew this was our family members favourite colour and we would all be wearing pink. The Funeral was absolutely beautiful and really captured the essence of our loved one. The Humanist, Lisbeth Dick, delivered a beautiful compassionate Service which was extremely emotional, yet lovely to listen to as it was delivered so beautifully.  It has been an extremely horrendous dark time in our lives yet Scotmid Funerals Coop done absolutely everything they could to make it that little bit easier for us.❤️❤️❤️
