Guide to Funeral Directors in Worcester
Worcester is a cathedral city in England with a population of around 100,000 people, most of whom identify as Christian. There are also many people of Chinese, Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi heritage in the town, so funeral directors in Worcester may have experience providing funerals in keeping with a range of religious and cultural traditions.
The town’s cultural diversity is reflected in the places of worship around the city. The most famous of these is the Anglican cathedral which overlooks the River Severn. Churches include All Saints Worcester and St George’s Roman Catholic Church. There are two mosques in the city and two Buddhist centres. Jewish, Sikh and Hindu residents are served by places of worship in Birmingham.
There are numerous funeral homes in Worcester offering a 24 hour, seven day a week service tailored to the needs of a diverse community. Local funeral directors can provide an individually tailored service, discussing requirements with the family and taking care of everything from floral tributes to transport. Whether families require a traditional funeral or a woodland burial for their loved one, funeral directors in Worcester will be able to advise and recommend the most appropriate and affordable services.
Burials can take place at Astwood Cemetery and cremations at the adjoining Worcester Crematorium. Worcester City Council staff take a flexible approach to their duties in order to accommodate the needs of the bereaved, whilst upholding cultural responsibilities.

Frequently Asked Questions
What should I do when someone dies?
When someone dies you need to get a Medical Certificate of Cause of Death from a doctor, register their death and choose a funeral director to arrange their funeral. The Registration Office will give you a Death Certificate and Certificate for Burial or Cremation (GR021 in Northern Ireland).
Read moreHow do you arrange a funeral?
You can arrange a funeral by choosing a funeral director who will help you organise all of the details. They can help you decide whether to have a cremation or burial and what type of service to choose, as well as additional options, such as music and flowers. You can find out what happens at a funeral and compare funeral directors on Funeral Guide.
Read moreHow much does a funeral cost?
The cost of a funeral depends on where you are in the UK and whether you choose a burial or a cremation. Natural burial is becoming increasingly popular, but can often be more expensive than burial in a traditional cemetery. The cost of coffins, flowers, catering and transport also varies a lot. There is also an almost unlimited list of options for personalising a service, such as professional funeral singers or a motorcycle-hearse. You can compare the price of funeral directors on Funeral Guide.

Mark Campion and his team showed professionalism and compassion at a very hard time for me and my family. Their help, care and advice was invaluable and they gave my Dad the send off he deserved. I would fully recommend Mark and his team. Thank you so very much.
Jacksons handled the funeral arrangements very well. We had personal conversations with them as well, and kept us informed as much as possible especially when the funeral had to be postponed because of a delayed post mortem. We would recommend them to anyone who needed their services.
The team have been amazing throughout, especially after a sudden death of a loved one. Very understanding, communication was great, always there if we needed anything. Couldn’t fault them.
Jacksons made the most difficult two weeks of my life considerably easier to bear. On first contact with Mark I was comfortable that Leon would be well looked after. I received excellent support in arranging the service while at the same time feeling in control. The customer service was perfect; kind, sensitive and professional throughout. Jenny, our celebrant captured Leon's spirit beautifully and everyone present thought it was the best service they had attended. I would thoroughly recommend Jacksons at Upton-upon-Severn to anyone.
Jackson Family Funerals have just dealt wonderfully with my brother - his sudden death resulted in a number of complications that would have fazed many companies; however; Jacksons took it all in their stride and made what could have been an extraordinarily stressful time much easier. As our elder family members have lived to good ages, we've recently had to deal with a number of relatives departing in rather quick order - with rather varied service from local firms whom seemed to have their eye on what they could charge more than the service they should have provided. Jacksons are a considerable distance from our area but this didn't affect the liaison or the funeral provision, our experience of them was far superior to previous undertakers Our family preference this time - and acknowledging the present Covid restrictions - Jacksons provided a simple cremation only undertaking most efficiently and kept good friendly contact going by email and phone. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
