Chichester Funeral Directors

Guide to Funeral Directors in Chichester

Chichester is the county town and the only city in West Sussex. Located in the South East of England, it is some 55 miles to the south-west of London. Long settled since Roman times, it is home to a medieval cathedral, many old churches and other notable architecture, including the Roman town walls which are the most complete old town defences in southern England.

There are around eight funerals directors in Chichester with several more in the surrounding area serving a population of 113,000. Six of these businesses are located within five miles of the city centre.

The last census showed that half of the population identify as Christian. However, with nearly a quarter of residents stating they are non-religious, funerals directors in Chichester are likely to have experience in arranging Humanist or secular funeral services.

Chichester council manages two cemeteries: Chichester Cemetery, on Church Road to the north east of the centre, and the cemetery at Petworth which is located about 15 miles to the north of the city. Chichester Crematorium, which is not run by the council, is on Westhampnett Road. There are two other crematoria relatively nearby, with Worthing Crematorium at Findon 19 miles away and Surrey and Sussex Crematorium 50 miles away at Crawley.

Lovely, warm and compassionate people. Nothing was too much trouble, and Frances was there every step of the way to make something so daunting so much easier. A big thank you to Fran, Roger and John for helping me through a very difficult time x

Bonnie was my contact at Moore's and she was patient, understanding and helped liaise with the crematorium and guide me through the process of arranging the funeral at each stage. She made every effort to enable me to have the service I wanted for my partner. Everything went smoothly and professionally on the day and my guests were complementary. I can look back and know I did the best I could for him.

Moore's went above and beyond, taking care of all matters related to my later brothers funeral. I would like to praise Bonnie, who was such a huge support and her guidance made the whole process so smooth and easy. Thanks Moore's for everything.

Agincourt funeral directors absolutely went over and above to make my mums final journey so special. They provided such a caring personal service for us as a family and looked after my Mum beautifully, from start to finish. Everything was done so professionally but with a very personal touch. The drivers/pole bearers were superb on the day and respected my mum to the very end. I would highly recommend Agincourt, Frances, Roger, John and everyone else involved, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart. And thank you so much for the surprise of the white doves, that really was the icing on the cake, my mum would have absolutely loved her day. Thank you all Chris West.
