The funeral was prearranged by funeral plan. Choosing the plan was straightforward and David was incredibly helpful. On the day everything went smoothly and the celebrant they arranged was perfect. I felt the team at Droylsden really helped me at a difficult time. Can't praise them enough.

The team did a wonderful job looking after my mum and our family’s wishes. Always thoughtful and respectful in all they did. Nothing was too much trouble and they helped us give Mum a lovely send off.

This was emailed to the funeral home at 2pm today. I still haven’t had a reply… 

Good afternoon Donna. 

Firstly I’d like to make you aware that myself and my brother will be making a complaint in regards to the way my mums funeral was handled.

We don’t believe she wasn’t treated with the dignity and the care she deserved. 

Could I please ask what date mums body was released by the coroner? There will be a date and time stamp on the email. 

Nicola told me she sent the email on the 18th but you said you didn’t receive it until the 31st? 


I’d also like to know the confusion between mum having paid her funeral plan in full and someone calling me whilst at the funeral home demanding payment? She actually told me to grab a pen and write down the amount. (I have already raised a complaint regarding this) 

Could I ask why mum  didn’t arrive at the chapel of rest until the day before the funeral? I have several emails asking for updates.

Can I ask if her nails were painted and he hair blown in? You promised me you would do that. But called in sick on the only day you had to do it?

I also specifically asked for Nikki to be involved in my mums funeral, but this wasn’t requested either? 

We would like answers to all of the questions above. We would also like a copy of the full complaints procedure. 

I doubt I will get a reply. But I will be warning everyone on every platform of social media about this, and I have spoke to Samantha at the Manchester Evening News

I would definitely recommend Coop funerals, they were nothing but spot on with everything. We were kept up to date and included in everything. They were polite and showed empathy without being over the top. Everyone we came into contact with throughout the whole thing from arranging the funeral to the service was  excellent.

Although i work in funeral care, i have never had to deal with a close family death. Droylsden coop were excellent and made the whole arrangement as stress free as possible, the service was perfect, just what mum wanted, and nothing was too much trouble for them, and i know my mum was in the best care possible, until her final day. I cannot thank Donna enough for all her care and understanding.

Excellent service a very caring and compassionate team. I feel Donna went above and beyond her duties to make sure that everything for Dads funeral arrangements went smoothly and we were very reassured that Dad was looked after whilst he was in their care which made it easier for us to deal with.
