The local branch was great. Helpful, considerate, tactful and sympathetic all the way through the process.
However, the local branch is just a link in the chain and sadly the rest of the chain was a disaster.
We chose the Coop because the deceased had to be transported from Weymouth to Stockport after a sudden death just before Xmas. The long distance transfer teamand the Ringwood Road branch in Dorset displayed terrible behaviours, communication between every constituent link in the chain were either false or non-existent. Delays were repeatedly caused and the family were desperately upset by false starts.
At such an emotional time it is disappointing to have to chase the undertaker and to find the deceased was not expected in the Chapel of rest 6 weeks after their death abd 4 days before the funeral.
We chose the Coop because they are a national company but they don't feel or act like one. I couldn't whole heartedly recommend them for such a complex funeral again, but I would recommend The Heatons branch in Stockport
